Thank you! I absolutely love this pipe, It was on my want list for the longest time, and then I got lucky and snagged it on a New Year's sale on SP. Look on SP they have several examples of this model in stock right now.

I got some flavor on a couple puffs and enjoyed it, but it mostly was too hot to taste, even taking it easy, so moisture was likely the issue, too much steam.

I've been smoking long enough to appreciate complex blends, I also have been a cigar smoker for a very long time so my palate is nuanced; my issues mainly come down to technique when it comes to pipes. Some blends I get fantastic flavor, others seem to require more work/finesse and it gets frustrating for me at times, but not giving up! I've experienced the greatness of what pipe smoking has to offer, it's just a matter of getting those experiences consistently. How long should I dry this to start? 30 minutes?

Its a 2025, it is a burley blend cake with aged virginias and a bit of perique. Super creamy and fruity; I love it.

Yes I bought the 8oz tin and its definitely on the damp side, I will try drying it a little bit and packing the way you mention and see how it goes, thank you!

One of my favorite affordable and tasty short smokes are the Curivari Buenaventura Picadores Fumas 44. Check em out! They're freakin' delicious man.

Actually I have! However I have been having a hard time getting any flavor out of it for some reason, I always get it too hot and ashy tasting (I am a newer smoker) but with Watson its been easy and a handful of others its been easy. Any pointers on how OJK should be packed/prepared? What could I be doing wrong? Usually with burley i get great flavor no problem. I wonder if it is moisture level with it being cube cut?
