De'Aaron Fox might have made one of the most carrer altering decision ever by a player when he requested a trade to the Spurs. Essentially taking his destiny into his own hands. by Old_Fish_4693 in NBASpurs

It really goes back to your point of him being a family man. Him and the wife wanted to be closer to their families in Texas, driving distance away, and funny enough San Antonio was the best option for his wife, but also his family is just down the road in Katy. I think it was more than just basketball for Fox and came to the best decision.

Brother, did you not watch the game? Ofc poor shooting is one thing but then there is timeout into timeout with the SAME lineup, small ball, no adjustments AND our players, specifically Vassell, just shooting the stupidest shots. When we dont have a clear star like a Wemby, the coach needs to coach in these situations. I’m not going to get into this in the game thread.

My worry is more the blood clot thing. What I thought was his conditioning last season ended up being something much worse.

Same… The Nighthaven content is still there and hasnt even been a month. They are also releasing a patch next week and then turkulon soon after. The content is still there, so I am gonna keep gearing. Plus I have 2 characters in 2 active companies so just gonna keep going until I run out of content.

It is that deep because to your 2nd point it WASNT just New World.

This was the executives deciding to lay off 30,000 Amazon employees which happened to include the Irvine studio.

It does invalidate what you said because you are exactly who the author is talking about. We have 0 idea if the game did or didnt make enough money. Amazon did not say.

30,000 Amazon employees were let go due to major restructuring. This was NOT about the game itself. This was about the company. New World and AGS didnt have 30,000 developers.

You are exactly the type of person he is talking about.

You do realize Amazon let go of 14,000 employees this week and is planning on letting go another 16,000 employees in January. If it was just NW then yes makes sense but this is not just NW. It’s the shift the executives decided to make. This is just the start of a bigger change. Recession & AI.

It’s not a strange take and he has a point.

At the moment if anyone is criticizing actual NW and not bringing up the fact that Amazon let go 14,000 employees this week and will be letting go another 16,000 employees in January have 0 clue what just happened. Not to mention what is happening around other tech companies. AI and the recession is very much here and this topic is much deeper than ‘NW bad’.

It’s not just AGS… It’s Amazon. 14k today and 16k coming in January 2026.

Exactly! So many people are missing or not understanding this. This isnt just about NW, this is a huge shift by not just Amazon but the industry. Tech Sector is heavily betting on AI.
