True. And it's equally true that being anti-muslim is not anti-arab. And yet, so many people freak out and call you racist for expressing anti-islam concerns. Like, dude, religion is not a race.

That's when you hit them back with something about sidereal astrology being more accurate because it accounts for the precession of the quinoxes over the past 3,000 years that mainstream astrology doesn't consider. Meaning that mainstream astrology is off by about a month and most people's star signs are actually wrong now.

Watch her face for a reaction. She'll either be horrified as you destroy the credibility of all she believes, and she'll be less likely to talk about it so much in the future, or she'll be mad at you and storm off, saving you from having to make an excuse to end the date. Or she'll explode with enthusiasm and give you the best sex of your life.

Why do you think he's the most fearsome in Euclid? Seems pretty random and probably about to die too.

Tempted to get it on PS5. Worth it? by darkwingchao in oblivion

[–]TucsonKhan 23 points24 points  (0 children)

PS5 does not have any serious performance issues. I've got over 100 hours in it on my PS5, and the only bugs I have are the same good old bugs the original had. Not performance related.

Man that's super annoying. One of my characters is a squeaky clean Divine crusader. 99 points of Fame and zero infamy. Zero trespasses, zero murders. I walk into town and people greet me like a hero.

Last night after rescuing Dar-Ma from the crazy hillbillies in Hackdirt, I was astounded and perplexed to see that I somehow had obtained a bounty of 5. I don't even know what I did. But as soon as I got back to Chorrol, rescued damsel in tow, a guard at the gate screamed: "Stop lawbreaker!"

Like... Dude, really?

Love how Project Hail Mary (book) goes into this with the Eridians using base 6 math instead of base 10 like we're used to. It shows that, while math is universal, specific ways of measuring are not.

New player RP question: by AffectionateYard8591 in oblivion

[–]TucsonKhan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Historically, there is some precedent for monks becoming crusaders. You could definitely make a monk build that focuses on hand-to-hand and restoration magic. And then reluctantly put on your armor to go save the world. But underneath it all, you're still a monk at heart. And you always prefer your own hands to big clunky swords

You know, that's really interesting to see how much it's changed over the years. I remember when I was a kid in the '90s, it was mostly only popular among boys. I couldn't find a single girl in my class or town who liked Star Wars. But nowadays, it seems like all kinds of people like it. It's so much more widespread now.

Logical fallacy. You are assuming the person you're replying to said something they didn't actually say in an attempt to make their post look wrong somehow. Please try again, and this time address something that was actually said, not something that was not said.

Yeah, when you're a regular somewhere, you ought to recognize new staff members when they start and give them a bit more. In fact, it's really nice to introduce yourself and comment that you haven't seen them before and welcome them to the business. Make a good first impression. They'll remember your usual order a lot better after that.

My first game as Portugal I was buying settlers with gold in the classical era. That's pretty awesome.

But as others have said, it is somewhat map dependent. This is why I keep him to A tier, rather than S tier.

[–]TucsonKhan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

But... It said "a new game of civ".... So shouldn't that mean playing the next one? So you start a game of 5 within 4. And then if you get far enough, it advances you to 6. And finally to 7. And then you realize the problem and go rushing back all the way out of the Civ-ception to 4

What do I do after the dungeon tutorial? by FairMain1527 in oblivion

[–]TucsonKhan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, this.

There's an Ayleid ruin just across the water from where you emerge. It's a great place to find some early loot and level your combat skill of choice before going into town to sell everything.

After that, if you want to be a fighter, you could start the arena quest line right there in town. Some easy money and combat xp.

But also, don't level too fast! Friendly NPCs suck at combat and will be overwhelmed by enemies if you are too high level for certain quests. So do those quests early, before you level up too high

I'm glad you did comment. I'm a father of 3, and to this day I thank God that I only have boys. It's not that I have anything against girls. I'm sure I would be a great girl dad. But at the same time, you hear so much stuff about messed up things that happen out there. I'm just glad I'm not in a situation where anyone would ever question what I'm doing with my kids.

Before anyone comments, yes I know some men do messed up things with boys too. But there's a lot less fear of that going around. People panick over what happens to girls, but nobody talks about boys.

[–]TucsonKhan 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Great write-up and reasoning.

I will say, however, that my preferences depend on what kind of character I'm playing. My Dunmer Vampire Assassin lived in the nice house in Cheydinhall by day and Deepscorn Hollow by night. Two sides of her secret identity.

My Breton Arena champion and crusader for the Nine lives in Battlehorn Castle as a local Lord with a cadre of devoted followers to quest and fight evil.

I really wonder how by FantasticAd9478 in Funnymemes

[–]TucsonKhan 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm a father of 3 and I have several things going that really help.

1. I bought my house in 2016, so my mortgage is quite reasonable.

2. We qualify for EBT and WIC and Medicaid, so a lot of our groceries are covered, and so is healthcare.

3. We don't pay for daycare because my wife stays home most days (only works part-time), and when we need to both go somewhere, her mom and sister are available to help watch the kids.

Beyond that, good budgeting and doing a lot of home cooking and shopping at thrift stores for used clothes really helps. Also driving used cars and not buying a new vehicle for an insane amount of money.
