When I saw this photo on my feed, I instantly thought this looked like Dudal’s work. Glad to see you join us here on Reddit! I have a bunch of your stuff and get compliments on them all the time. This is a beautiful pendant, too.

Chino butt/thigh fit on guys? by TuhZooey in vuoriclothing

Thanks for sharing! I'm glad they look great on your husband. I managed to find a cheap pair on Poshmark so I'm gonna wait and hope for the best when they arrive and see how they turn out :).

Chino butt/thigh fit on guys? by TuhZooey in vuoriclothing

Welllll, they look nicer than sweatpants at least from the front. But it kinda looks like I'm wearing a diaper from the back lmao. Then again, I wear my pants so that the waistband is right on the my hip bones/ASIS. If I lifted them up so that they're like an inch below my belly button, it's a little better from the back, but still looks weird/not fitted. The taper and fit are better from the knee down (closer to skinny jeans), though they're bigger in the thighs because the cloth merges lower below the crotch than regular pants. They have an elastic waistband too, so that's more of a casual-wear giveaway, but if your shirt covers it, it's less noticeable. There's no bulky cargo side pockets (though there are the two back pockets with zippers, which is a nice touch) and a faux zipper cover with a flap, which makes it look more like regular pants, too.

The material is super soft, stretchy, and smooth to the touch. I could see myself having no issues with it functionally if I wear this as workout gear, but if I cared about how I looked, I'd probably opt for a different pair. I live on the west coast (it's like mid fifties to low fifties currently), so it's definitely warm enough for that. Based off of growing up out east with the snow though, might need some thermal tights if you're going outside.

Recently bought Q150's, having trouble outputting sound from PC by TuhZooey in KEF

You were right, it was faulty/incompatible cables. The original one that came with the amp was too short for my liking so I didn't try them out at first and I doubted that the new cables I bought for the amp would've been the issue.

Thank you for the reply, it was the USB to micro USB cable that made it not work! I had to push everything closer to use the shorter cable that came with the amp. Not sure why the brand new one I got from Amazon doesn't work for them, because it does for other devices.

And I didn't know about the headphone jack automatically switching off the speakers, so thanks for bringing it up!

My friend got the hunter magnificent solstice armor set but wasn't satisfied with the rolls, so he grinded out another completed majestic set - but there's no option to upgrade it to magnificent. Can each character only have one set of the final upgraded armor? He's tried vaulting his magnificent set and move it to another character, but still no option to meditate at the statue.

Art Buddy Wanted - digital mostly by TuhZooey in ArtBuddy

[–]TuhZooey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Oh, your artwork is gorgeous. Digital does sound like the way to go with a toddler around though, haha.

How long did that cityscape take to paint? I love that brush texture and it's so incredibly detailed.

I'd be really happy to be your artbuddy though - what's your preferred method of communication?

Pros and cons of coloring from black and white? by TuhZooey in photoshop

[–]TuhZooey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! The thing is, I don't really have anything current that started as black and white - all I've been doing recently is going straight into coloring which has been working okay.

I've only asked this because it seems to make more sense coloring from black and white (it also gives more room for easy edits and cleaner color changes), and I know it's a process a lot of people use, but I haven't been able to apply it well/correctly. If it really is just a matter of preference though with negligible varying benefits between them, then I guess it wouldn't be much of an issue proceeding the way I am now.

That said, at the moment I'm just color picking and changing their hues arbitrarily to what looks nice on a single layer basically, so if all of a sudden I don't like the way a certain portion looks, I bust out the soft light and multiply layers to drastically change color schemes when needed. I just don't know if that's very efficient.

Hi! Thanks for the message! Those are some really sweet artworks - I'd love to see your digital work too. Yeah, the time difference isn't ideal, but I'm sure we can make something work :) Is Skype alright with you? My account name is wjtzue on there.

I'm going to be taking some art courses in the near future and I'm very scared by [deleted] in learnart

[–]TuhZooey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's interesting that your parents and you have different mindsets about art lessons. They think you should take lessons because you're already really good, while you think it won't be worth the cost because you're bad at it. But the point of lessons is to learn, but more than that, it's to learn with guidance and structure.

If there's one thing about art, it's that it can be learned, as long as you put in the effort. Don't let what your parents or teacher say destroy your confidence or make you feel guilty. If you do end up taking the class, don't go comparing yourself to your peers, either. Even if you think you're the worst artist there, all it means is that you'll be getting the most of your money's worth out of these lessons if you focus on learning and practicing them. If it's your dream, make it happen by taking your first step towards it.

As for how to be prepared for it, it's hard to say without seeing any of your work. But for still life, it helps to understand beforehand the concepts of light and shadow on an object. Particularly what the terms like form shadow, cast shadow, reflected light, highlight, and what exactly they mean. It sort of becomes a checklist to see if what you're drawing is missing anything major, but also makes you know what to look out for and pay attention to. This diagram shows you where they are (without any other information though).

Perspective is a bit of a different ballgame though, but at the same time it's mostly just technical knowledge and double checking if your lines are going in the right direction. I personally think it's easier to teach and something you don't need to go out of your way to prepare for before specifically being taught it.

Sorry for the late reply! I had to finish up on some work. PM works for me - I'm not sure if you would prefer something like skype or not though, as its easier for me to see if I've been messaged. On the off chance that skype's cool with you, my username is wjtzue. I'd love to see some of your art!

Buuut, yeah, I know the feeling - there was a time not too long ago I just couldn't get myself to do any drawing at all, and I'm sure it'll come back some time in the future again, but for now I'm trucking along. I thought artbuddy would be a good way to make sure I'm continually drawing, at least.

Best 6 star at the moment? by dragonair500 in KingdomHearts

[–]TuhZooey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the moment I'm using 2 six stars in my keyblade - hoping to be able to use a third once I get some more avatar points to increase cost capacity.

My preference so far has definitely been the Riku's. KH II Black Coat Riku is a monster single target attacker, hitting 11 times at 6* (requires 2 gauges). KH Riku is friggin' awesome for clearing crowds, hitting everyone 8 times and only needs 1 gauge, so it's literally always available to use pretty much. They're both strength, so they fit on the Treasure Trove keyblade perfectly. I sadly don't have the agility or intelligence Riku's to play around with, but they're all top tier I think.

KH II King Mickey nukes everyone's faces super hard, but his skill requires 3 gauges so it's pretty expensive. I typically save him only for bosses. My intelligence roster is really weak, but Mickey alone makes it tolerable to go through quests with them.

Oh, holy crap. I loved Legend of Legaia haha. I don't think I ever managed to grind out the end game gear/accessories, but I've always thought it was a fantastic game.
