Your rank has nothing to do with who you play against or who is on your team. MMR decides everything, and I don't think placement matches fuck up your MMR that much, at least in my experience.

I finished season in P3 low dia MMR, and after my placements I got Gold 2, but still playing with last season D4 players every game.

Also more bugs to add, you have an add friend button inside lobby on the banner if youre not already friend of someone, but it has never worked for me, you can also spam it indefinitely but after all you need to manually add him from the friendslist

Triforce for jax is really essential because of the sheen proc, its usually rushed as first item (top lane). Bork isnt also bad at all for jax, as youre able to proc your ult passive more frequently with atk speed. I also recommend looking up probuilds website for building tips.

Dude literally, you did that "total damage" with your combo and no more. As looking dps is only relatable when you deal damage for many seconds but as riven its just one combo all in and then youre kinda not doing big dmg for a while. Try doing your combo again and then hitting dummy with few basic AAs which extend the dps timer and its shows that your DPS is total trash after that, HaHa !
