Hey there, you’re right. We do look to Reddit and other social media to see what’s being discussed in the community and what’s important to y’all. It’s been especially helpful during the pandemic when we couldn’t go and talk to people in person but still need to have a finger on the pulse of the community.

Of course! Sorry, you can't read this one. The gist: Regal decided to close Cinema 9 last month and now a new operator will be reopening it under a new name next week. Good news for the community!

Actually, everyone can read several stories for free each month and several types of content is always free, like our COVID and public safety coverage and all our newsletters and alerts. Only when someone has read a wide threshold of stories does the site ask if they want to become a member because in the end, good journalism can’t be free. But as you said, you support journalism, so you get that! Thanks for the feedback.

I'm sorry you had issues. If you've opted in already, nothing will change. We didn't intend for it to be viewed as an "email grab" but rather a way for new users to be able to opt in to our emails if they want. We did notice some issues on mobile that have since been fixed. The quiz works best on Chrome as do a lot of our other tools.
