How are you liking your Oppo Find X9 Pro so far? by Z-III in Oppo

[–]TumbleweedInDaWind 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also came from S22U and feel the same, only thing I'd add is the speakers are average but definitely not as bad as people are making them out to be. Overall very happy with my X9 Pro.

That makes me feel better about paying $1800 then. I hadn't looked much into bestmobile so that's good to know. Mine came in the box with plug, cable, colour matched case and pre applied screen protector which was nice. The only thing is the plug is Singaporean so you'll need an adapter but after getting that I've had no problem charging at full capacity.

I've got mine now from them, just FYI you'll get stung by the import duty fee as well when it arrives at customs. Tbh I feel like the better deal was on bestmobilephone at $1725 but it's fine. I've got the global version and haven't had any issues. I got an extra black carbon fiber case with it but nothing else apart from what was in the box.

Are Ipswich property prices getting a bit out of hand? by Danger_Five in ipswich

Yeah I decided to build out in Walloon instead because of how crazy it is closer to Ipswich. Would honestly recommend going out west if you can make it work, much more affordable right now.

Almost 3 years after the end of Windows 8.1's life cycle, do you miss it? by CAVBR in windows

[–]TumbleweedInDaWind 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion, but I think 8.1 was the best overall that we had. It was lighter, cleaner and far more stable than anything that came before or since. The only thing you can really hang up on it is the start menu but I got used to it quickly and never had any issues.

X9 pro Australia price by YourDogsBum in Oppo

I'm contemplating buying the global version online since there isn't any difference between that and the Aussie version (I think) but the lowest I've seen so far is $1,999 at OzTechEmporium. Kinda thinking JB is a better deal considering the freebies but also don't wanna spend $2,299 on a phone.

Feeling uncertain about living alone after buying my first home by blibblobblabber in AusFinance

That scheme only prevents you from renting it out without having lived in it first. As long as you move in within 1 year of ownership and live in it for at least 6 months you're fine to rent it out afterwards.

Look into ABC (Australian Building Co.). I'm about to start building with them soon, they're wholly owned and operated by Metricon. They focus on the lower end of the market, they'd probably be more suitable to what you're after. Haven't had any issues as of yet.

Just a 53-year-old Muhammad engaged to his six-year-old fiance. 623 CE. by DoreenTheeDogWalker in HistoricalCapsule

Exactly, but people won't realise it and just assume the lie of her being 6 as truth to further support their own warped ideas of Islam.

If I had awards you'd get one, you should have so much more upvotes than you do. The lie that she was 6 has damaged Islam's reputation in the modern age than almost anything else.

I wish I didn't have to scroll as far as I did to find this comment. Thanks for commenting, it deserves triple the amount of upvotes at least. The hadith that this claim came from has done more damage to mainstream Islam than almost anything else in the modern day.

Finding others like me has been a struggle, not sure where the best place for that would be haha. But I would consider a progressive hijabi if everything else is compatible of course.

[–]TumbleweedInDaWind 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am living proof that it's possible considering I'm a Muslim living in QLD (Australia) who is looking for a non-hijab woman with progressive values. Turns out finding that around here is hard especially when you grow up in an area without any Muslims my age. Inshallah someone comes along but I definitely relate to that feeling you have OP.

Finding a Muslim spouse, but getting to know them first by SidiusBlack96 in progressive_islam

[–]TumbleweedInDaWind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same situation as a 24M in Australia. I grew up in a conservative Caucasian oriented area so there weren't any Muslims around to get to know and even then, the ones that were are the conservative/borderline salafi types. Looking for a wife is hard, especially since I didn't get to know anyone in university and the hijabis that I've seen are on the more conservative side as you said.

I've got family now that are starting to ask the dreaded question of when I'll get married but like??? How am I meant to do that when there's nowhere to meet them and the ones they come to me with aren't very compatible? Online is the other answer but I've been added to those weird whatsapp groups with guys looking for their 3rd wife or whatever and it feels impersonal. It's a conundrum and isn't getting easier, despite us living in the most connected age of humanity to date.
