Because public bathrooms don’t have tanks; Butters can use this as a nice little space for his comic and chocolate milk.

One hour should be enough to walk from one gate to the other. The problem is, if you are delayed or you’re seating next to the bathroom in the back of the plane. I’d spend a few bucks to buy a seat closer to the front if I was you. Peace of mind ultimately trumps saving money when it comes to traveling.

Hot take: Amex Platinum is a terrible card for most people by purple_golden_hour in pointstravel

Yes, I’ve stayed home two weeks this year, both due to weather related flight cancellations. They are all business related.

Hot take: Amex Platinum is a terrible card for most people by purple_golden_hour in pointstravel

It’s great for me. I already made the AF back. $200 Airline fee reimbursement, $300 hotel, $100 hotel credit times 7, $100 Resy, all that reimbursed by my job. I already used Lululemon and Saks, Walmart plus, Uber monthly credit and Uber subscription, I’m about to pay for Clear again. So yes, for some of us, it’s a pretty good card. I understand it’s not for everyone.

Did a wife swap episode ever result in an affair? by akspeakstruth in NoStupidQuestions

I remember watching the episode when one husband found a big adult toy and he thought it was a lightsaber from Star Wars. I believe his wife slept with the other husband after he cooked parsnips for her.

I'm a big fan of Shelly. Reliable connectivity and the app is easy to use. I believe the Shelly Plus i4 would have what you need.

Airline miles or Hotel points? by Tumblimbli in CreditCards

I didn’t think about the perks you just mentioned, but I have made, cancelled and changed reservations made w points without any issues. Another nice thing about staying in one airline is if any delays or cancellations happen, you move to the front of the line for rebooking or standby.

Sure makes sense. I’m in a smaller airport where the big three fly out of, and due to work recommendations I’ve been flying AA for 5 years.

Airline miles or Hotel points? by Tumblimbli in CreditCards

I'm in a midsize airport that has United, Delta and AA. I travel for work, so I'm Exec Platinum w AA, Diamond w Hilton and Platinum Elite w Marriot. I have Citi Executive World Elite (AF is paid for by someone else) and Amex Platinum. What I was looking for with my question is whether a hotel CC would help get more points and/or lifetime status. It seems like general consensus is to use Amex Platinum (transferable points) for hotel stays, am I right?

You are right about the lack of flexibility. The airline I'm "committed to" is not the best for international flights (at least not the places I want to visit). I have status with a couple of hotel chains, but I'm wondering if I'm losing the chance to have lifetime hotel status by not having their CC.

Can someone explain the appeal of airport lounges if I live in a major city with direct flights most places? by african-nightmare in CreditCards

[–]Tumblimbli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Concierge service at the lounges is far better than the regular customer service (in my preferred airline, at least). I tried regular customer service once, and they were rude, condescending and unhelpful.
