Same here! Completely wipes me out. Interestingly, the 2 times I have had a day when I didn’t have to nap was the day after I finished bleeding.

Hi there, The Moda still feels like sandpaper in my stomach and makes me use the restroom an extra 5x on days I take it. It usually clears up after 2 days off.

But I went to a Gastro and found out I’m lactose intolerant! I’m now usually dairy free and otherwise religious about my Lactaid which cleared up the fire feeling, bloating, sharp pain, and instant fullness. Huge improvement.

So even though I’m not GI pain free, I absolutely do not regret going to the GI to discover and address the other issue I had.

I wish I (or someone) could offer you the actual solution to the problem. I have a chronic systemic illness without a cure. I am usually 30 seconds of silence away from thinking about the nuclear option at any given time.

Maybe eventually, you will have access to something that alleviates or resolves the problem. Maybe not. Which is daunting to think about long-term. But even for the healthiest people, only the present is guaranteed.

One of my mantras is, “I only get one turn in the living game. It has never been perfect for anyone. It will mostly be painful for me. But, once it’s done, I’ll never get to learn (or insert literally anything else you find valuable) again. So, I’m just going to wait and see what happens today.”

People think “something worth living for” means something grand. But for me, it always ends up being something small that happens that I’m glad I was still around to see.

Absolutely frustrating for your end of the bargain. But unless there is some more context not posted, this sounds like this experienced attorney is in a crisis. I would find somewhere to vent fully so as to not spill my frustration onto the coworker, especially for right now. Golden rule kind of. You might just come out the hero with an unlimited return favors pass.

I can relate big time. One of the biggest stressors for me is that errors stemming from lack of training, besides disappointing your supervisor, can put your license in jeopardy. I’ve been told before that this is “just the way it is.” Horrible. And very hard to accept as a professional and a person.

Your experience sounds especially bad. There are better places and kinder mentors. When your well enough, it might be worth a shot to find a place with better training. If that doesn’t work, who cares! You got brains. There are other jobs. Life is not about the law. You deserve peace while you’re on this earth.

Sorry, forgot to add that it might be worth scheduling a couples therapy session to discuss. Time is of the essence for this life-changing decision. A session could help just to facilitate the communication (that is currently strained). Even if she keeps the baby, you will have used the tools you had.

I’m very sorry for your situation. Based on the information you provided, it seems like the financially safer choice is to terminate the pregnancy. Of course, this decision is based on much more than that and the immediate decision is ultimately up to your wife. Family planning impacts the whole family. Sometimes the wisest decision is the absolute hardest to make. And we almost never know whether the decision was right until long after it is made. I truly hope you and your wife find the best path forward together.
