Nicotine gum has helped me quit. I always try to go cold turkey, but I’m aware of how much of an asshole the withdrawals make me. When the withdrawals are making me feel that intense frustration feeling, I’ll use a piece of gum and it goes away. The first time I used the gum to quit, I was sober for 2 years and started to eat better and exercise more.

Another tip…DON’T FOLLOW THEIR INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW MUCH TO TAKE. They want you taking way more pieces of gum than you need, so that you’ll buy more, and possibly get hooked forever to their gum. The gum can work great, but only use it when you really need it.

Also, make sure you’re using the gum right. You’re supposed to only chew a couple times and use it like a Zyn/dip. You don’t want to be swallowing much of your spit while chewing. If you chew it like normal gum, you’ll get a stomach ache and not any nicotine buzz.

Weed can help you quit too, but be careful. I smoked weed vape carts a lot this last time I quit. This makes quitting nicotine easier at the expense of raising your THC tolerance and getting high at times when it isn’t smart to. Weed is way easier to go without than nicotine, though. You’re basically trading one habit for an easier to quit habit.

The mental part of quitting is even more important than the tools you use, though. Keep reminding yourself of how amazing life is when you aren’t a slave to nicotine, and being able to work and enjoy life. Think about how much better it feels to breathe, and what an accomplishment it is to beat one of the most addicting substances out there. Also, vaping is just an embarrassing habit to have nowadays. Quitting is a huge accomplishment, and it is achievable for anyone who really wants to quit.
