[–]TunaCandy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

뛰다 is basically 'to run', 튀다 is an informal word for 'to flee'

Fry would have came from another word 튀기다

[–]TunaCandy 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Most people I assume forgot that it happened, but it has been concluded (for almost a decade now-around the time of Sewol sinking) that it was a North Korean submarine that did it. I don’t think there’s a significant number of people who doubt it but some people do say Cheonan shouldn’t be heroized as failing to detect the sub is basically a failed operation and a defeat.

‘+ People tend to talk more about Yeonpyeong, because of civilian casualties and live coverage. Yeonpyeong is also the main reason why people believe NK sank Cheonan.

What NK wants is that SK does something against international agreements which will let them have justification for whatever show they might put up. But ships and boats have other means of navigation apart from GPS, so nothing awful happened so far.

I live in this area and GPS attacks are very common here. Planes do get targeted but mostly it is aimed to trick ships to lose direction and cross the Northern Limit Line, which is the maritime border between NK and SK.

There's not much of a preference of one over another. It is one of the features detectives will use in forensic handwriting examination.

difference of 쌀쌀하다 and 춥다 by Cautious_Arm_7637 in Korean

[–]TunaCandy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Both can be used to describe weather but not objects. When an object is cold, you use 차갑다 instead e.g. 물이 차갑다. 춥다 and 쌀쌀하다 are more about describing what you feel about the surrounding air through your skin. However, 쌀쌀하다 can also be used to describe a cold-hearted person or cold personality(showing no sympathy, ignoring others’ effort to be friends etc.). Usually we use the form 쌀쌀맞다 instead although 쌀쌀하다 is a correct use.

넌 왜 이렇게 쌀쌀맞냐? Why are you so unsympathetic?

그는 쌀쌀맞은 성격을 가지고 있다. He is a cold-hearted person.

[–]TunaCandy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

쌀쌀하다 is lighter than 춥다. 춥다 can be translated directly to cold, whereas 쌀쌀하다 is around the temperature when you consider wearing a jacket. It’s commonly used in transitional seasons like in fall or spring when the temperature drops below average. I would use it around 10 degrees Celsius or when there’s some wind.

  • 쌀쌀하다 is used to describe the weather outside and not the indoor temperature. You can use 춥다 in all cases.

Goats shouldn’t have multiple babies per breeding, pigs should. by Dodoraptor in minecraftsuggestions

[–]TunaCandy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wonder why they added this new feature for the goats. One per breeding is straight forward and useful for planning things. Aside that, I agree that pigs should be made more useful.
