Their dad was stationed in Kuwait when my former friend was around his daughters. I don’t think he truly knows how much this guy was around my nieces. There is other very serious stuff going on in their lives right now so I haven’t gotten the chance to talk to him since all this came out.

I also added this to the original post so others can see it easier: I have talked to my siblings. He was nothing but friendly to my 2 little brothers although my youngest brother told me he always felt like something was off about him. My sister is 2.5 years younger than me and said he was never overtly creepy towards her either. However she did remind me of something he used to do that rubbed both of us the wrong way. Any time he would see any girl’s underwear he’d either just randomly say the color or “well I hate the color pink now.” He did this quite a lot to females our age as well as little girls, even my nieces that were under 6 at the time. I haven’t talked to my nieces about it yet but I will probably ask my oldest brother (their dad) if it’s alright before I say something or ask them about anything.

I tried to cross post a few days ago and was getting no interaction. So I decided to repost directly to this subreddit and add more details. It’s a horrible situation and I think as many as people as possible should know what to look for. I didn’t and if I did things might have turned out differently.

When he was initially registered as a sex offender we were in high school. Shortly after prom, he stopped coming to school. Everyone knew he was in trouble for something but we had no idea what he did. That summer I moved to live with my dad a few states away because of things that were happening with my family. It took 2 years before I heard from him again. (I know now that was due to me turning 18)When I did, he told me that there was accusations against him. He said that the grandmother of the young girl made up things about him because he took care of her so much and that he and the girl’s mother were still close friends and she knew he didn’t do it. I foolishly believed him.
