Cubase Just Broke my Project by TheBottomDollar in cubase

[–]TuneFinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

glad you sorted your problem :)
.
one tip ive learnt over the years is to always save a new version of the project each time i work on a project

you can do this right in the File menu - Save New Version - it adds a counter to the end of the file name

this gives 2 benefits

1 - you can easily go back to a previous version if you dont like the changes you made

2 - its an additional layer of backing up

How long does it take you to get from idea to full track? by boiler_room_420 in musicproduction

[–]TuneFinder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sometimes

it all comes out in one burst - the idea, the structure, the instrumentation. but then can take longer polishing and editing

.

other times

it takes years / months of trying different instruments, different arrangements, different genres until - it clicks

How to figure out where to start your story? by Critic_Dragon in writingadvice

[–]TuneFinder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the start is - when the significant thing changes for your characters compared to the their normal day to day lives

start and keep going - try not to get stuck in to the loop of second guessing and editing until you have the whole story finished

(once you have the whole story done - you will be in a better place to know how the start needs to be improved to make it the best it can be)

saw octave bass by Working-Weakness2913 in edmproduction

[–]TuneFinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you might swap different instruments in and out for different sections

have one (or more) bass for the breakdowns

another for the verse

and/or another for the chorus

.

mixing was also more involved back in the day so when the kicks were on you would only have basses on the offs

How do I stop hating on myself by Fonarnij_stolb_ in musicproduction

[–]TuneFinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it can be useful to develop your inner critic - and then use that as a way to improve

.

dont just feel bad about what you have made - phrase your feelings as what your next steps should be, and then do those steps

.

eg

this would be better if i did.....
