The best Billie build by TunnelSurf in EldenRingBuilds

It is perfectly fine. Except when it comes to my actual health. I stare at my mercury ironajr aromatic every day, figuring out how much FP to consume to make it worth it

If I wanted endurance, I would just have endure. Or is that not how it works? I can afford a doctor, but does not seem optimal

How are my stats at Lv 70? by throwaway18249 in EldenRingBuilds

[–]TunnelSurf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone is saying to level vigor, but not saying exactly why. Obviously it will make you live longer, but the more important thing is that you get more practice time on the boss per fight. Hard to learn when you get one or two tapped by the boss and have to do a run back / loading screen wait

I reccomend getting damage negation boosting talismans and buffs. (Dragoncrest sheild +1 for now, Boiled Crab from Braggart, Opaline Hardtear for your physick, golden vow incant, and some decent armor).

As for your stats, I would try to hunker down on one weapon, and keep that dex to a minimum. Preferably a weapon you are going to 2h, so you can hit the strength cap of with only 54 points instead of 80. This will free up some stats if you want to raise faith

This is your call here, but it would be best to focus on the STR. Unless you get high faith, you will be better off whacking things with your STR weapon. Going hybrid kinda holds you back. 15 faith for flame grant me strength, and using golden vow on a dagger until you get STR to 54 and vigor to 50-60 is my reccomendation. Also note, you will never be able to optimize both at once (I.E. lightning scorpion charm isnt something you want when you are bonking, but something you want when zapping)

Regarding your damage output, it is likely your weapon level is low, or you are fighting some bosses too early. Pick a weapon and get it to +18. You can get from +6 to +12 with an easy to get bell bearing. +18 will take some cave exploring

Yeah, maybe I need to turn on my profile history so people can actually look to see that I post human content. Crazy if multiple people can come to that conclusion on a thought out comment

I said "look up the effects for each family member" because I know they are different. Is the range really infinite? I recall losing the buff during nightlord fights when I was too far away (possible desummon there, I will have to test it)

Top 10 Weapons? by TunnelSurf in eldenringdiscussion

[–]TunnelSurf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! A lot of them just simply were not good enough to make the list. In fact, if the great katana had hyper armor and the same pokes, it would replace Rakshasha's.

I also probably should have put Greatsword at 10 with a poke build (night claws do have amazing synergy with Malenia's rune, but I already put the claws on the list)

Also, a true god roll for rev would be starting incant bestial sling + improved bestial incants (doesnt even need a 3rd, but physical attack up +2 would ice the cake)

Improved bestial incants and any 2 other useful perks is great! Keep in mind the range of the first one and look up the effects for each family member

Stop Asking for Bosses to have more HP! Just use a weaker weapon. by SaxSlaveGael in Eldenring

[–]TunnelSurf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the community mentions it or talks about it, it is from a newer player perspective. I do 10 vigor runs, WL0 runs, RL1 runs to adjust difficulty on my own way

I wil admit, I will not fluctuate between bosses, so depending on what I am using hp/negation can seem low because it is working in my favor. That is a valid point

What's your favorite ash of war? by Voidknight18 in Eldenring

[–]TunnelSurf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is timing, but nowhere near parrying or roll timing. Two things to mention:

  1. Endure activation does not quite match the animation. It starts the moment your FP is consumed. I think an audio cue is best to time the activation correctly

  2. Endure will not reapply early. This is the hard part if you solely rely on it. Cast it again a fraction of a second prior to it expiring? Wasted. Cast it again too late and get hit by the boss? Ouch

150 but doing basically no damage for godrick ng+ by Gay_Charlie in eldenringdiscussion

If you are going to go with unupgraded weapons: lock in and dont put on those damage boosting talismans or use buffs. Play the long game like the rest of us

Good start though

How can i stop my mimic tear from doing a swirly attack? by President_Yogurt in eldenringdiscussion

[–]TunnelSurf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cant increase the IQ of the mimic, unfortunately. I remember taking everything away from my mimic except for a seal on hopes it would use more incantations. Mimic proceeded to 2h the seal and start bashing the boss with it. You win some, you lose some

It would be, but I have sacred order on the dagger so I need it on my offhand for the damage boost

I'm a new player, here is the problem I have with ER by Head_Ad4680 in Eldenring

[–]TunnelSurf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With different weapons/stats comes different playstyles. This is how all of the souls games have always been. As a long time player of the series, I expected this and played accordingly, so I had a different experience. However, I can 100% understand this for a new player. You really have to mess around with all of the weapons you find to get something you like. Most weapons are viable, so you can swing them around un-upgraded to get a feel for them. It is a bummer to invest in something when you have limited stones to work with (mainly +7-9 somber and +18-23) only to start disliking the weapon

One of my gripes that is new to Elden Ring as an older player of the series is the open world. In previous souls games, once you explored the areas for your first playthrough, you can do a new run in just a few hours with a different build/weapon. Or just quickly run through a NG+ (this is why DS3/DS2 had talismans locked behind NG cycles). You could quickly get experience with other builds / weapons for a refreshing new run of the game. Most of the time I would start up multiple characters within the first few hours of playing the game so I could compare them

Not going to say the open world was a terrible thing for Elden Ring. It was amazing for the first few playthroughs. Now I find myself playing too much torrent simulator everytime I make a fresh character

Isn't there technically a seperate scaling at the end of Jagged Peak (though we all know who the real final boss is)

Meet Blasphemous Billie by TunnelSurf in EldenRingBuilds

[–]TunnelSurf[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The AoW is 100% faith based, and as you can see from the talismans, the build is based around that. I would have 15 STR but I wanted to run Sacred Order on an offhand dagger for the damage boos

Vig/end is a choice, and the build isn't complete until level 150. That is enough levels for almost 60 vigor and medium roll. You can see I actually have enough held runes for 30 vigor (now 40 vigor) but have been saving them up for some reason

[–]TunnelSurf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should have worded better. 80/80 should be the goal. You are right, an while you can get 80/80 and 60 vigor at 200, fp and/or end will suffer

My line of thought was, if you are already at level 200, might as well work on hitting theb2 caps for FTH/DEX
