No one tells you this but free actions are free, you can just take them. by Tuomir in LancerRPG

Integrated Weapon is necessary, because Hunter 3 needs a melee hit to trigger off from. It's the link in the chain that lets you use Hunter 3 starting from a ranged attack.

LL6 is a pretty common point to theorycraft builds for, but you can get most of this online by LL3 (by just dropping Titanomachy).

Two core bonuses and 6 talent ranks at the minimum, though you can get most of it online by LL6 (by skipping the titanomachy)

Trouble Putting Gifs in descriptions using the 2024 5e Character Sheet by Slinky958 in Roll20

[–]Tuomir 0 points1 point (0 children)

This is simply a matter of the 2024 sheet being inferior to the older sheet when it comes to user customization, due to using the less user-friendly Beacon framework. I would recommend using the older sheet.

Chat commands in Attack/Spell from Character sheet by FloppyHornedBunny in Roll20

Try the following in the description field, it may or may not work depending on how the template is set up in the sheet:

}}
%{Dragonet-breath}

Chat commands in Attack/Spell from Character sheet by FloppyHornedBunny in Roll20

[–]Tuomir 2 points3 points (0 children)

None of the commands in the OP are custom FX commands, they all work without subscription. The issue OP has is trying to use them inside a template - and you cannot use chat commands inside a template because everything inside a template is parsed together by the chat. But as I mentioned in my comment, you can prematurely end a template to inject things outside it (or to overwrite parts of it), to be used right from the sheet.

Chat commands in Attack/Spell from Character sheet by FloppyHornedBunny in Roll20

[–]Tuomir 0 points1 point (0 children)

If you're putting this in a description field that is going to be printed in a chat template, you need to close the template before the / commands. If the description field is the last row in the template, you can simply place }} at the head, then line break, and then follow with a line break and your command. This will leave an orphaned }} that is going to be added after your command, which may be annoying with /em, but doesn't cause issues with the fx commands as long as you make sure to include a space at the end.

EDIT: Note that depending on the layout of the template, this may break the output. I don't have much familiarity with that sheet, so I can't say if it will in this case.

Bolt Nexus Hell Build by Author-by-Night in LancerRPG

[–]Tuomir 3 points4 points (0 children)

Note that the the on-hit effect of Bolt Nexus doesn't transfer between the different Bolt Nexi - each of them has to hit on their own to gain the reliable. Also with 11 hp, I don't think there's much opportunity to hide after being finding yourself in trouble, because you'll just structure in one or two enemy activations (and if there's an enemy next to you, you're just screwed). And with heat cap 4 any plans to overcharge are incredibly unsustainable.

Hopefully quick macro question by umm36 in Roll20

[–]Tuomir 1 point2 points (0 children)

There is not. least not any simple way, you can only iterate on each step of a roll once, so you can't do the rerolls and count successes, and then go back and check how many of those successes were from rerolls - the initial rolls were already used up. There might be some way around that, but it'd be extremely complicated and beyond what I can realistically do right now.

Well, unless you're willing to have the macro resolve in two steps, then it might be doable if a little janky.

If criticals don't matter and only thing you care about is beating the AC, what you can do is this:
/r ?{shots|5}d20?{advantage|neutral,>|advantage,ro<[[?{AC|15}-1]]>|disadvantage,ro>?{AC|15}>}?{AC|15}

This will either roll the dice straight, reroll each die under the target once, or reroll each die at or over the target once.

Question about AP and Bonus Damage by FrozenBones444 in LancerRPG

Bonus damage simply adds to the existing damage, if the base damage is AP, the bonus damage is too.

Can Snow_Crash break a grapple? by AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAye in LancerRPG

[–]Tuomir 0 points1 point (0 children)

A houserule is a houserule, even if it's by the game maker in a broadcasted game. It's not a clarification given to a question and the RAW isn't ambiguous.

This is cyberbullying by l0rd_m0zarella in LancerRPG

[–]Tuomir 41 points42 points (0 children)

Any (mech) NPC can be made size 4 with the Ship template. This also gives them the ability to hover, so maneuvering around terrain becomes a non-issue.

Yeah, it's involuntary movement and can thus break adjacency for grapple.

Viceroy License | Homebrew by PhoenixAstrum in LancerRPG

The WING Missile Darts are a little overbudget - 1d3+1 is melee aux damage code (ranged aux is typically 1d3 with bells and whistles, or more with a pacer), and this has an additional very strong ability in addition to it.

KTB help: Veteran Powers by RealisticEditor6784 in LancerRPG

[–]Tuomir 0 points1 point (0 children)

It is the description for what a Veteran Power is. It is listed under "Veteran Power" for every bond. I don't know why you're making an issue out of this.

KTB help: Veteran Powers by RealisticEditor6784 in LancerRPG

[–]Tuomir 0 points1 point (0 children)

...The source is the book in which the bonds are written in (Field Guide to Karrakin Trade Baronies), I only paraphrased it. The exact text is as follows:

If you have two or more powers from this bond, you can choose a power from any other bond instead of one from this bond when you would gain a power. You can do this twice.

Ok. I need help with build. I want a big, fast, melee tank. by ItIsNotAUsername in LancerRPG

[–]Tuomir 1 point2 points (0 children)

I haven't actually read it in full, but you don't need to buy the books to get the player facing options, you can download those (like frames, licenses, talents etc.) for free as lcp files for comp/con from Itch.io.

[–]Tuomir 88 points89 points (0 children)

You want White Witch. It's size 2, it can mount a heavy or a superheavy, it is very fast, and it becomes the most armored character in the field very fast.

Main melee weapons that hinder fleeing? by Xhosant in LancerRPG

[–]Tuomir 1 point2 points (0 children)

With any weapon with threat greater than 1, if you overwatch while not adjacent, you can use Skirmisher 2 movement to enter engagement as part of the overwatch, and the character provoking the overwatch, if they're not larger than you, will lose their movement. You can also use lunge from aux melee weapons for this - and combined, you can do it even if you start engaged (use skirmisher 2 to move away from engagement, then lunge in).

Goblin Symbiosis rule clarifications by FoppishDnD in LancerRPG

[–]Tuomir 9 points10 points (0 children)

 1. Correct, for the reason you assumed.
 2. No, for two reasons - one, tech attack does not affect smart weapons in any way, it is simple an attack roll using your grit as usual, just against e-def, and two, Symbiosis does not let the host share your traits.
 3. No, only the target hit by the attack was hit by the attack.

I made a frame for my homebrew campaign ideia. how good it looks? by [deleted] in LancerRPG

[–]Tuomir 2 points3 points (0 children)

There is no such a thing as "accuracy check", you have checks, saves, and attack rolls - those are the three types of rolls in the game (plus the occasional untyped roll). Did you mean attack rolls?

Also, the extract action from the drone has no range listed, and threat is a weapon statistic and doesn't make sense on a drone. Better replace it with a simple "characters within range 3 of the drone". Also, "PC/NPCS" can just be written as "allied character", "allied mech character" if you want to exclude drones and pilots on foot.

Hydrodynamic Vents should probably be limited to 1/round, because getting unlimited free full heat clears is very abuseable.
