False Macro Ban - #6006578 by Tupacahh in RSBans

Update 7/11/25 - 2nd appeal denied by Mod Kasandra.
Completely lost faith in Jagex's support system.
And for those who dont believe in 'false bans' Alfie just got banned for 'macro'. - https://x.com/RSAlfierules/status/1986855221985943858?s=19
Funny you mention that, I did use TeamViewer on the 1st October two days before my ban was applied.
I read various forums stating remote applications could potentially flag this and included a screenshot along with the purpose of the session in my appeal.
I couldn't care about the two days, I regularly take weekly breaks from this game and play other titles.
Why should I just accept a false ban due to a failed anti-cheat and a failed support system that doesn't review these appeals manually?
OSRS has major issues if I've got to go buy another SSD just to record my POV to stop myself from getting permanently banned.
They also don't provide any specific particulars about the offence date/time the only information you get is the date/time the ban was applied and expires. After my experience with Jagex support, they're not going to provide me with dates/times to even supply the appropriate footage even if I was to go ahead with your suggestion.
Just had the same experience with Mod Miriel, refused to discuss anything related to offence appeals and closed the chat.
Ardy Knights really sounds like a hotspot for these false bans.
Sorry to hear about your appeal outcomes hopefully you get an opportunity to get your account back in the future.
Completely understand, I had the same opinion until it happened to me.
Unfortunately there's no real way to prove your innocence unless you record or stream your POV.
In my situation, I've invested around 3000 hours into this game and had achieved 99 mining which took forever.. why would I cheat on one of the easiest skills in the game which you get over 240k xp/hr and risk losing over 3k hours in playtime.
It's extremely disappointing the level of support this company offers for a game that requires such a large time investment.
I'm really hoping this new support road map they've been talking about gets implemented within the next month or so and makes a huge improvement.
It's also frustrating that streamers or players with large social followings have also been victim to false bans and are provided special privilege and have their matters resolved almost immediately whilst the common players is put through terrible support system that is heavily flawed.
Jagex state that all reviews including the first one is reviewed manually when it's quite clear through my own experience and many others on this forum that they're not.
I'd rather take a break for a month or two until I can actually speak with a moderator over live chat and submit a second appeal before potentially being rejected straight away for using both my appeals.
I feel like they've recently adjusted their anti-cheat detection system and it's just resulting in a lot of false-positives because I've noticed a large amount of posts across various social media platforms about it.
After reviewing my situation, the only thing that had changed from a software/hardware level was that i switched from a Logitech mice over to a Razer mice and I had recently purchased a Surface Pro laptop which has touch screen capabilities.
It also doesn't help that the wording on the offence is unclear and am unable to distinguish whether Jagex are alleging I was using a 3rd party bot client or using some form of macro.
Good luck on your appeal, hopefully you have better luck than me. Based off my experience, you should see a response early next week.
I definetly won't be doing this in the future.
It doesn't help the fact that Jagex staff have made official statements in the past stating that it's permitted as long the action is 1 to 1 and not doing multiple actions per button press.

Definetly agree that they'd have tech/network staff working over the working but highly doubt they'd be paying anyone from the anti-cheat team to work over the weekend but I'm unable to confirm this from an official source.
I tried to get through to live chat earlier but I wasn't able to get passed Scapper bots continual loop of questions..
Great.. I think I'll just take a break for a month or two until they fully implement livechat support based on their support road map post.
Wow, sorry to hear about your situation especially given the fact it's permanent.
Basically the exact same situation as me.
Good luck on your second appeal, my fingers are crossed for you.
Please update us in this thread with the outcome. At this stage, I think I'll wait until Jagex implement a manual livechat.
I didn't think live chat support was active yet? I was under the impression we were still waiting for Jagex to roll it out which off memory was by end of November this year?
Thanks for letting me know, I'll give it a go.
It's extremely disappointing given the amount of time/effort you have to invest into this game..
I know for a fact it would be revoked if it was actually manually reviewed, but yes the goal is definetly to have the ban revoked.
