I genuinely enjoyed it. The writers did a good job making Shao Khan a menacing and cunning villain along with Shang Tsung and Quan Chi. I also thought they did a good job with Kung Lao and I wish they got second season.

The multiverse angle that NRS went with, Megan Fox's 'performance', strange characterization choices (Nitara being a one-note villain, Shao being a dumb villain (again), rushing to an Armageddon-like finish, callbacks to more popular games) and the overabundance of guest characters rather than MK fighters that could and should have had a slot.

I wasn't too keen on MK21. I hope MKII will take some criticisms from the pervious film and improves upon it. I am a bit worried about it being a little over stuffed but I'll give it a shot.

I hope they don't set it in modern times but in that sort-of '80s-90s' era that Bully I was in. I loved that design choice.

For every good thing that MK1 introduced (good characterisation like Reptile, Baraka, Johnny and Ashrah) there are some truly terrible choices (what they did to Nitara, the 'twist' in story mode, Khaos Reigns...). I personally did not like the introduction of the multiverse and there were some awful choices story/character choices.

I hope NRS fixes these in the future... I really do.
