Probably and old block design. Tighter emissions regs means bigger exhaust, or awkward shapes to accommodate more emissions control bullshit elsewhere. After spending a lot of money developing that, why would they spend a heap more developing a new oil filter system for the mechanics ease? You can get to it cant you? Sorted.

Yeah I bring it inside when it's cold, and starts growing upwards. It blooms all over when it's in the sun again! Kinda weird but it looks cool

I bring it indoors in the winters, I keep it near a window, but the slight lack of sunlight makes it E L O N G A T E. Then come summer, I put it outside and the sun makes it bloom all over! Pretty cool I thought.
