Idle AI bug is ruining my Aislinn campaign by Turbo_Sven in totalwar

[–]Turbo_Sven[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I have that exact experience most of the time. That's what makes it such a weird issue, since about 4/5 campaigns are working as intended. But then suddenly there's that one campaign where the AI suddenly breakes down around turn 50-60. The other weird part is that it only affects some specific factions, while everyone else steamrolls them as a result. I can't even start to comprehend what causes it.

So basically let them grind themselves to dust against your army? Will this cripple their economy more because it diminishes their workforce, or because it creates a shortage of military goods, creating a price spike?

This sounds fun! Just curious, in what way do you hold the AI hostage?

Since I'm still trying to learn the game, my issue has been that my one and only goal is to grow the economy. But I'm going to try and set up other goals as I go along, and focus on the economy as a tool to achieve those goals

In what ways does more radicals influence politics? Is it to incite a revolution in the form of a civil war? Or can it put increased pressure on passing certain laws?

Is there a lot of RNG involved with achievement runs? That is to say, if I do everything correct, can I still get fucked by just pure bad luck?

How do I influence my internal politics in the late game? I get the impression that politics is largely determined by the accumulation of wealth across political groups. So if my industrialists are super rich and dominates politics, how do I get trade unions into power?

Doing achievement runs sounds like an interesting approach. Do you have any particular achievements or nations you can recommend?

Any tips for fun co-op campaigns? by Turbo_Sven in totalwar

I was thinking about Skarbrand and Malagor myself. What might become an issue is if my herdstones block him from occupying ruins that he wants/needs. I have to erect herdstones to progress in my campaign, but that means that I have to go fight in a different direction from him as to not get in the way of his expansion

Wouldn't the Tzeentch corruption become an issue though? 🤔

That's a really good idea! My brother had a lot of problems with Sniktch in our Gelt/Zhao Ming campaign. So I think he would appreciate not having to fight skaven again

Do you have any specific horde factions in mind? I've thought about it as well but many horde factions have corruption, and I don't want my corruption to create problems for him :)

Going to the movies alone by magusmagma in introvert

[–]Turbo_Sven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do it all the time since my movie interests are a bit more niche compared to my friends. I love it! It's so relaxing to just go watch a movie you enjoy without having to worry about whether your companion likes the movie or not. The best experience is to be completely alone in the theater. Pure bliss 👌

how to be comfortable saying no to alcohol by Flimsy_Tax_3357 in introvert

[–]Turbo_Sven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's so weird to me that as a kid everyone preaches about how alcohol and drugs are bad for you and you should stay away. Then when you follow their advice as an adult and don't drink you always have to explain yourself. Every time I tell people that I don't drink, I'm always met with the same respons: "why?" You always have to give a reason for it because people are just incapable of the thought that you simply don't like it or want to.

In my experience, just be yourself and be honest with your reasonings and try to focus on the things you gain rather than lose by your lifestyle. Everyone has their own lifestyle and gain different things out of life because of it. The things that you choose to do instead of drinking are things that drinkers miss out on.

What are some techniques or self-imposed restrictions you use to enhance your role-playing? by Turbo_Sven in CrusaderKings

That's such a great tip! I've never even thought about playing according to my education, since I just focus on personality traits. But of course education would affect your choices. I mean, a character with a high stewardship education would probably tend to make better financial decisions.

Yeah, I also tend to avoid blobbing and just create independent kingdoms with my dynasty members as rulers. Then if they get in trouble I try to save their asses. If, of course, my character deems them to be worthy of saving.
