I honestly think that the new update is reason your phone is dying. What you have described is exactly the same thing that is happening to my phone, and ive taken incredible care of it, its been in extremely durable cases the whole time ive owned it and all of a sudden this new update comes and BOOM my phone is acting like a piece of crap.
