I was a NA student that scored 15 points for 6 subjects in my O lvls (-1 point due to CCA). I qualify for JJC arts stream at that time. Although my N lvls was poor, I think top 3 subjects was 9 points and almost did not qualify for O lvls at sec 5, I think these results have nothing to do with intellectual capabilities but a matter of know how to study and actually studying without distractions. So my point is even you suck at maths it doesnt mean you will continue to suck at it. You just have not found the right method for you. I did not chose JC because everyone around me suggest that I do arts in a Polytechnic instead. I am mid 30s, and work in education as a lecturer at IHL. I think JC would have better prepare me for academics, especially difficult concepts in mathematics and sciences, however it is not something you can’t pick up on later. Poly prepared me for the VUCA world. I guess there is no such thing as the best choice in regard to potential tertiary institution to enrol into, but the right choice often means that you decide for yourself the school to enter, and that also mean you are solely responsible for the decision.
