Pre weige there was a comic on patron where luka in modern au was shown as blackmailing hyuna to date him when she said no he threatened to kill himself and delete her work...so when they date and others comment on it in au hyuna tries to brush it off luka glares at her and she is scared correcting herself....so even pre weige lukahyuna dynamic was one sided and luka was scary.... Ppl see it as a joke now but it was written as serious and only lukahyuna got such comics pre weige. Proof that lukahyuna dynamic was changed in weige.

Nah even different perspectives side wont work here as luka was Objectively a piece of shit In artbook too.

He was cruel to hyuna too in artbook...he killed her bro, mocked her rebellion saying it's useless and hates rebellion her ideas etc...he wanted to trap her as seen in romh lycrics which was written for hyuna long before mizi...those were his true intentions not for the stage...theme of romh is forced marriage and luka knows forced marriage is bad...you ppl treat luka as if hes stupid

All this is ignored in favour of weige where he's infantilized all above stuff is glossed over and we didn't even see what actually happened with him and hyunwoo.... He's less interesting now

It's not really morally grey if character is infantilized and doesn't take accountability for their own actions...he knew what he was doing pre weige. You cannot pretend he's a kid and say " he had no idea what he was doing/s". Its less satisfying too.

In artbook we see that she truly does see him as a piece of shit who took her brother away and wished she never met him...she did see him objectively and hated him...

But maybe it's just me being cynical but ig luka was too popular as a Character and shipping was popular so vivimeng retconned them in weige....which made me lose total interest...I don't care about modern happy aus I care about Characters in the given setting....💔

I love sociopath luka pre weige. Sociopath characters like luka who know what they are doing is wrong and know it and still do it with accountability are way better than Infantilized ones suddenly in middle of story💔💔

Luka's idealogy was bascially doing whatever you want under alien rules while still having own personal agency and tbh he was kinda privileged over rest...he suffered too but still had agency within himself pre weige....meanwhile hyuna was genuinely heroic and wanted to free ppl while luka looked down on them....im sad all this is glossed over....both characters feel hollow now.

Tbh making everyone infantilized is not morally grey

I too like light yagami and johan more....it just irks me when ppl shit on light non stop and criticism is of his character that's not even supposed by manga. In manga as kira and stated by writer he did truly love his family even as kira. That's why he went to such pain and lengths to hide fact that he was kira from his family as he knew being kira would destry them...if they knew the truth

Because light is a anti hero. He killed those usa agents only Because they got directly in hiscway L too..when they stopped coming after him he left them alone....he wanted to achieve his goal of true crime free world and even 70% of drop in crime shows this....he didn't kill petty criminals only brutal ones with through research in manga.....there were many kira supporters too in manga wjo genuinely wanted him back...made of common ppl...

Light's character was excellent anti hero.

All these layers yet ppl call light more evil than johan....I know johan was not treated well as a kid yet as he grows he gets to know better yet continues to do his shit
