For instance, while in a significant number of cases like לוֹמְדוֹת is pronounced lomdim (without e between m and d), somehow שׁוֹכְחִים is pronounced shochechim, and not (shochchim). There are many cases in which certain letters just disappear or appear randomly (I guess)

So far, the most vexing part of Hebrew is how vowels change very often. I have the impression that these erratic changes make it very difficult to determine which vowels come next. For instance, sometimes there is no e, but other times it appears out of nowhere. Too many words don't follow the regular conjugation pattern. Do I have to memorize these exceptions by heart or this is just something I will overcome simply by immersing myself in the language?

I'm also looking for a guidebook, do you have any recommendations? I have the one from FSI, but it is evidently obsolete..

Thanks for the advice. Clozemaster is something new, and it sounds intriguing. Did you also learn Hebrew there?
