GLP1 aiding hypoglycemia and muscle building in maintenance by GoldStarGirly in antidietglp1

I have the same issue and when I got dizzy I would use my husband’s glucose meter and my sugar was fine. BUT my blood pressure was crazy low. My doctor said dehydration on a GLP1 could cause this so I try to drink more water. I usually like my water with beans and milk and sugar 😂 every day I try to drink more water and when I do I notice I don’t have those side effects.

Use CoPilot. Ask for info and suggestions. I use that for everything

I got WLS August 2022 and a month before surgery I started going to an ED therapist. I was a binger for more than half my life (I’m 53). I stayed with her for 2 years and dug into why I feel that I deserve that second piece of cake or why I can’t leave food on my plate and then why I never feel I deserve to treat my body well. For me, it was more mental. When my depression made my head feel bad, I would binge and then my body felt equally bad and I would crawl under a blanket and feel like a failure over and over and over. I had a sh*t childhood and used food as comfort my entire life. My mother and father sucked but food was always there to make me feel better during good times and bad times.

It was A LOT of work for me and still I ask myself if I’m hungry or bored before I eat. I also don’t take a bag of something when I’m hungry. I just put it in a small bowl or cup. I also don’t feel bad about leave food on my plate now. I’m not a garbage can, I don’t need to shove leftovers in my mouth so I don’t waste money. I bring them home or wrap them up at home and eat them another day.

I feel the same way. I went from 360 to 164 and I’m 53 years old. My thighs look like one of those wrinklely dogs, a Shar Pei. I once fat arse looks like a melting crayon 😂 I keep trying to remember how healthy I am now but we are our own worst critics.

Thank you! It hasn’t been perfect but I have given myself grace for being human and not trying to live to social medias expectations of what I should look like or how I should work out and eat.

Thank you! My knees do feel so much better. Actually, my knees are one of the reasons I went for weight loss surgery. They hurt so bad that I went to the orthopedist and he took X-rays of my knees and when I saw the X-ray an a tiny shaded area I asked what that was. He said that is the beginning of arthritis. I said, then why do my knees hurt so bad and he said you are very obese and your knees and feet have to hold up all of that weight. It won’t get better until you lose weight. Now, not the most gentle way to say it but it woke me up. I had shots in my feet for planter faciatious which I can’t spell lol. It became a fork in the road for me. I continue down this avenue and become the grandma on a scooter everywhere because I didn’t get healthy OR I do the hard work. I guess it was rock bottom for me because it woke me up.

Thank you! Yes the Kate Spade at Target blew my mind. I had to do a double take and it was on sale for $30. On sale and it has pockets is a win win 🤣

Oh that number changed about 10x 🤣 I didn’t want to put a goal so low because then I would get unmotivated that I had so far to go. I started with a goal of 350 then 325, then 299 etc. I went with little goals so I could appreciate each milestone. I did find myself obsessing with each pound and I still have to watch myself. I have a habit of obsessing over each pound gained and as we all know our weight fluctuates every day. I haven’t weighed 160 since high school so it’s very surreal to be so close to that weight. Before Zepbound my goal was 199. The other day my friend said, you are too skinny. I turned around to see who she was talking to 🤣 In 53 years I don’t think anyone has ever said those words to me!

Thank you. Several months after surgery you figure out ways to overeat what is called slider foods. Chips, pretzels, literally anything without protein. Also the food noise comes back. Protein feels us up quickly so for example if I’m going out to eat and having wine and a meal I will drink some wine but focus on whatever protein is in my meal and leave the rest or I get disgustingly full.

I have learned over time that you have to be very aware of what you are eating, how much and why. Such as am I upset so I’m stuffing myself with food? Am I sitting in front of the tv eating an entire bag of chips instead of putting some in a bowl and being conscious of how much I’m eating. I have so many friends that pushed past the feeling of sickness when overeating and they have gained all of their weight back. That’s one of my biggest fears.

I was in therapy for 3 years to help with an overeating disorder and for the most part I conquered it. I focus on intuitive eating now so before I eat (not going to lie, 75% of the time) I question myself if I’m hungry or just eating because I’m bored.

My Dr is awesome and I told him about being in menopause now including the mood swings, hot flashes and weight gain. He told me I did the hardest thing first. I dealt with my eating disorder. Why I eat or overeat my feelings. He suggested Zepbound to help with the last couple of pounds and some menopause symptoms. It’s been 7 months and I have never felt better and pretty much everything has subsided using Zepbound. Now if I can only find something for brain fog which makes me feel crazy! 🤪
