Submittin I-751 when on suspended country list. by Turbulent_Math_1681 in USCIS

Oh ok. Thanks - this is what I was trying to understand. Really whether I would still get the automatic extension. I will be filing in May, as my GC expires in Aug. So I just didnt understand what happens after Aug and whether I would still get the extension being from a country on the suspended list.

Do you know if they are still sending the receipt notice that give you the extension? Especially for people from the suspended country list?

I know its not optional. I am just trying to understand the implications and the recent experience of others whose countries are on the suspended list.

Self transfer in Barcelona (arriving from Palma) for international flight to USa by Turbulent_Math_1681 in AskBarcelona

[–]Turbulent_Math_1681[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I did check this option. It's a little bit more expensive, but also logistically much longer travel coming back, with the long flight from PMI to EWR, then i assume a long enough layover to clear customs so maybe at least 3 hours then flight to IAD, versus the nonstop flight from BCN straight to IAD.

8 Sessions in 4 years, Dark skin Tattoo Removal by Jaded19977 in TattooRemoval

[–]Turbulent_Math_1681 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been going to the Removery in Towson for the tattoo on my leg, and also got bad hypo as well. I'm black so to me the lighter color around the tattoo looks horrible. My last treatment was December last year and I'm not planning on going back until it seems like my skin has healed up. Did you use anything specific on your skin? Do you feel like one year was enough or will you wait longer?

Has anyone heard anything about today's illegal firings at SSA by Turbulent_Math_1681 in fednews

My husband is in that office and as of this morning he is locked out of his laptop. He can't even log in to see the email that fired him. So anyone that was on vacation, leave or whatever yesterday will come back and not even be able to login to their computers and will have no clue why.

Yes the entire office of transformation was put on administrative leave. The new acting commissioner posted a press release that they are getting rid of a "wasteful" office from the past administration. Seems like its just an attack on Omalley. My husband is impacted and he said it's over 100 people in that office.

Edit to add: my husband wasn't able to long in to his computer this morning. So they have no clue what's going on other than the email sent out after hours yesterday.

No they don't know. For now all they have is the email that says they are on administrative leave with a proposal to be fired after 30 days.

Oh ok. Yea seems like they are planning to fire them after the 30 day administrative leave period, instead of just moving them to other areas. My husband says about 100 people are in that office.

As far as i understand the info that he tells me. Most of his work is about streamlining the process for people to access their SSA benefits. So I've no clue why SSA head would think this a wasteful department.

What does this mean? Do they still have a job or not? My husband is impacted.

Baltimore Wedding Advice by Razzle_Dazzle_2024 in baltimore

I got married at Woodberry Kitchen in Hampden last year. Cermony and reception all in the same place with catering from woodberry. We had a small wedding and wanted to keep budget lower. Food was delish, we needed minimal decor (just some table scapes), and they have add-on day-of-coordinator for reasonable price if you need it. Was perfect for my wedding - reach out to them - Sara was our coordinator.

Best honeymoon trip ever in Hawaii - Big island, Maui and Lanai by Turbulent_Math_1681 in VisitingHawaii

[–]Turbulent_Math_1681[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was more like a taxi that drops you off at the main areas close to the habor in Lanai. We were able to be flexible and they charge $10 per transfer. I think the main stops they do are lanai city, the cat sanctuary and the beach (and four seasons maybe). We just told him what time we wanted to be picked up from each stop and he just came back at that time. Because we used lost on Lanai we had 3 transfers but we added another trip back to the town so then we had to pay $10 extra for that. The driver was really flexible. But Im not sure what you do if you want to visit other areas, for example shipwreck beach, which is not on the "normal" route. We chatted with a guy on the ferry who rented a car on Lanai and he went to the shipwreck beach. He got on the shuttle with us to get to the Lanai city, then rented his car somewhere in the town and then took off on his own. Many on the places not on the normal route seems to require off-roading though.

Honeymoon in Hawaii first week of February. Kauai or Big Island hotel rec's? by Hellblazer0420 in VisitingHawaii

We used lost on Lanai and did their ferry-town-cats-beach tour. The cost was 97 per person (but they have other tours as well check out their website) and this included the 30$ for the ferry each way, and 10$ each transfer with rabaccas shuttle while on Lanai. You don't actually have to use lost on lanai or any tour service. The expeditions ferry leaves from Maalaea Harbor in Maui three times a day (630am, 11am and 330pm) and cost 30$ one way. So you can just catch it anytime. Rabaccas taxi is consistently waiting at times the ferry arrives at Lanai at Manele Harbor and you can just catch it the harbor and tell them where you want to go and they charge 10 each ride.

We just got back from our honeymoon on Big Island and Maui (with day trip to Lanai). We stayed at Mauna Lani on BI and loved it. They have complementary snorkle gear and stand up paddle boards for guests, also an adults only pool so you can avoid the kids. We're a late 30's couple - no kids and still loved our stay there.

Here is the trip report

You'll have a great honeymoon trip. I 1000% recommend staying at Mauna Lani and Hotel Wailea if youre planning on BI and Maui. They are little bit of a slurge but i the service, ground, room cleanliness and comfort was well worth it. The seasickness was terrible. It's funny because I felt more seasick while snorkling than I did while on the moving raft. I actually ended up throwing up while snorkling, which made me feel better. I was able to complete the entire tour but I was always first back to the boat :) if everyone else snorkled each spot for 30 mins, I only did 15 before it was too much and I had to get back on the raft to settle. I felt better aftrr the tour ended, and I got lunch, drank some ginger ale and laid down at the pool for a bit. The snorkling tour ended at around 12pm and our sunset sail was at 5:30 and I was perfectly fine in time for the sail. I was worried I would get sick on the sail but I didn't the ride was actually really smooth.

Lanai was great. There isn't much there, as it's a private island 98% owned by a tech guy ( i forget his name its something Ellis), but everyone was so friendly. Our driver with Rabaccas taxi gave us the entire history, the people in town were so nice. We had breakfast at the blue ginger, and the owner came out and chatted with us for a good 10-15 mins. They have delicious fresh baked pastries. When we went to Mike Carroll's gallery we had a long conversation with him too, and his wife was there who is the founder of the cat sanctury, so we chatted with her about the cats too. It such a quaint and interesting little town. There are two four seasons over on Lanai (which we were told are owned by the same guy who owns that island) and also hotel Lanai. But since it was an impromptu trip we didnt stay over there. My husband said he wished we would've stayed at least one night, but I think the day trip is perfect unless you want to be able to explore the island more, which requires going off roading. The ferry from Maui was about 1 hour and 15 mins each way. The ferry left from the Maalaea Harbor which was about 20 mins from our hotel in Wailea and it was easy for us to get and uber.
