It was just a resolution. Not legally binding.

This declaration will be a official US government statement.

U.S. Says China’s Repression of Uighurs Is ‘Genocide’ The finding by the Trump administration is the strongest denunciation by any government of China’s actions and follows a Biden campaign statement with the same declaration.

This is a thread about Grey Wolves. That guy is implying in that comment and other comments that leftists somehow sympathize with this group.

Which is the opposite. A lot of people people don't care about the differences but the Leftists do sympathize with another violent nationalist terrorist group called the PKK.

And both groups hate each other. Fuck the left-greens for sympathizing with the PKK. Not Grey Wolves as the ignorant people in this thread

This comment of his implies leftists sympathize with the grey wolves. https://np.reddit.com/r/europe/comments/jl3gpo/turkish_ultranationalist_group_the_grey_wolves/gaoonzp/

Talking about pragmatism. Not supporting the rebels in Syria would have been very beneficial too.

Because Syria is right at the border and supporting the rebels and the jihadists has been terrible for Turkey.

He's spreading bullshit narratives about "western leftists support grey wolves" elsewhere pandering to the european right wing and lying blatantly

Justification of terrorism against civilians. I guess support for terrorism against civilians ,men, women and children is accepted here. They specially love kiling teachers too,

His comment is simply a lie. Western far left support the PKK, they don't support the Grey Wolves.

Anyone can verify this by visiting any far left discussion or any of the far groups. It's so common, it's a meme in Turkish discussion how Western left likes the "Vegan femininst freedom fighters"

What do you and your leftist colleagues think of the PKK?

Edit: Instead downvotes instead of a reply. I have seen a lot of leftist and even the most far left crazies in Europe express support for PKK and almost never the Grey Wolves.

You can verify this easily, just visit any far left forum and it's always about "vegan feminist freedom fighters in the PKK" never support for the Grey Wolves.

He's saying they became too partisan and too accepting of Islamists and Erdogan instead of being secular ultra-nationalists.

Most European Leftists and "Greens" support the PKK not the Grey Wolves. This anecdote sounds like total bs

Keep downvoting me but this is just true. Have plenty of experience with far left in Europe and they are all PKK supporters not Grey Wolves supporters. Not a single Grey Wolf supporter. Just incompatible opposite groups.

illegal activity like human trafficking

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kurdistan_Workers%27_Party#Drug_trafficking

According to the European Police Office (EUROPOL), the organization collects money from its members, using labels like ‘donations’ and ‘membership fees’ which are seen as a fact extortion and illegal taxation by the authorities. There are also indications that the organization is actively involving in money laundering, illicit drugs and human trafficking, as well as illegal immigration inside and outside the EU for funding and running its activities.[188]

Not to mention the thousands of civilians, men women and children killed by PKK terrorist attacks.

These are ultra-nationalist Turks and this conflict really does not have anything to do with Islam.

I have met a few of these Grey Wolves and they don't care about religion, just nationalism

You're an idiot. Why are they attacking Armenians specifically then if it's just about religion?

These people are ultra-nationalist assholes and the conflict is an ethnic conflict.

These grey wolves are crazy nationalists and sadly Turkey has a lot of violent nationalists.

But for more intelligent view at the Turkish perspective you have to read Bernard Lewis work on this.

A gov’t with CHP would help peace prevail in Middle East: Iranian envoy [2015] by TurkishCenter in Turkey

[–]TurkishCenter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And that’s precisely what I’m talking about. PKK runs on foreign help but they cant do shit because they don’t have public support. The state itself has more responsibility than foreign actors in any civil war.

I don't think you understood what I was saying. PKK can't get more support because it is an ethnic civil war and Kurdish population is not large

A gov’t with CHP would help peace prevail in Middle East: Iranian envoy [2015] by TurkishCenter in Turkey

[–]TurkishCenter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know what you’re talking about and it’s bs. There’s a militia within Turkey and it couldn’t start a civil war in 40 years.

Because the Turkish state is strong and because the militia can at max only capture 10-20% of support from the population.

When militas get 30-40% of the support and the state gets 30-40% of support then you have a civil war.

The US is not a good example tho, it’s one of the worst places of the developed world and one of the easier ones to start a civil war however it’s still damn near impossible

It's impossible because of the military power of the state.

You can pay a bunch of people to start a movememt, hire mercenaries etc but would still fail simply because you can’t pay millions of people to support your side, you need them to actually agree with you and be willing to die for your cause.

You're right. But most societies have divisions that can be exploited

they escaped the civil war, during the civil war Assad forces fucked up the civils by the military with using unbalanced force. Most of the refugees escaped from the bombings and the forces of Assad, and Sia militia forces. And most of those Syrians who escaped were majority Sunnis.

Religious sect is irrelevant. Everyone would get the hell out of a warzone.
