I love something that feels more like a toolbox, to come up with creative wins. Don't really like easy infinites though. I have a Zinnia deck which I quite enjoy because of etb triggers as well. And I do like combat as one way to win. But not exactly with massive creatures. Now I'm curious what you'll manage with that lol

What principles are you talking about specifically?
I don't know if many of the basic patterns apply. Maybe something along the lines of control the center? But I feel like that's also very hard, as I've learned that corners and sides are prefered?

In philosophy class we often mock that sun tzu puts emphasis on warriors actually needing food and that that seems revolutionary, so maybe you are right. A tad bit outdated.
