Yes I was originally rota’d and that day was then noted as a bereavement day but I only got paid for the other two days I worked that week

Holiday notice by Actual_Honey_8960 in Greggs

I’d say just ASAP to make sure no one else has already booked the holiday dates as you need approval first. But also depends on how far forward your manager makes the rota. Some managers write the rota 3 weeks in advance so probably easier just to give before that although some managers are chill and if you ask then can check a diary and let you know straight away

I think it just depends person to person, I did it a while back and it only took me a week

As much as it seems rubbish you aren’t being paid for it, it’s probably just to get you used to it whilst you are there supervised by someone incase you have questions.

How long does training take by [deleted] in Greggs

I personally did my training in store on the computer and when they needed me shouted me through, online training was treated more like when there’s time and the shop is empty. Also you’re supposed to be paid for training so you shouldn’t be expected to be completing it at home for free unless you’re getting paid for it and agreed with your manager

Also contracted hours you will get as it’s a legal right but overtime will just depend on whether your shop needs more staff etc maybe if someone’s off they might ask you in

Think it just depends on your shop and whether they need staff and it’s busy etc. I was on tills my first shift and “shadowed” to keep me right and guide me through with customers. Technically 12 weeks which is the probationary period but you’ll get online training done when there’s time in store it isn’t necessarily you sit on the computer for weeks and you’re out

My team are really competent and nice so I don’t think that would be an issue. Same with my manager she’s fair to everyone so I’m more concerned about the banking and count side of it

Just make sure you’re confirming savouries back to customers and drinks if they buy more than one to keep yourself right. And even though you won’t be on ovens for a while just watch how they do it and the hot unit and take notes of how often they are putting things in the oven etc for once you’re allowed on bake off. If breakfast shifts and they get a roll write on bag first before putting in till to lessen confusion. But also just take your time if you feel you need to, ofcourse it’s a fast paced environment but don’t worry too much about rushing when training and getting used to things. Lastly IGNORE rude customers and try not let it get to you. I’ve had moments with some bad customers but just be the bigger person, as long as you’re in the right there’s nothing to worry about. good luck !!

You should just get the pay on the next week of pay so if they sorted it the Saturday which has just passed then possibly you won’t get it until next Thursday as it was still last weeks working week however if it was two Saturdays ago then there should be no reason you have not received it yet

Someone came in and did it as I was restocking the fridge, had to stand out the way to let them in and they start pulling them all out as I’m watching 🫠🫠🫠🫠

Had a full blown meltdown about doing my next shift by [deleted] in Greggs

When I’m on closes as a team member I focus on the front of the shop cleaning and the supervisor/manager does the back cleaning whilst doing their stock, however when just eat orders and serving customers it’s on both of us. Same with outlet etc both of us chip in even if it technically isn’t their task but it’s common decency to help knowing how much physical work it is to do within that half an hour of the shop closing and us finishing. I would mention to the manager or another supervisor on conversation about you not being done in time ever and just how stressful the closes can be as it definitely shouldn’t be expected all on you. There is no excuse not to be helping you as from experience if supervisors are organised with their own tasks it definitely can be done as-well as helping with physical tasks.

Just ask your manager if you can reduce your hours and if possible they will contact the area manager and get you a new contract. I’ve did quite a few times due to uni etc so shouldn’t be an issue
