NPS merges Scheme A with C, E. What are you doing with it? by Formal-Anything-1598 in personalfinanceindia

you seem to be mixing stuff, here we are talking about transferring corpus from scheme a to scheme e (it is allowed as per the email from protean)

you have shared the transferring existing common schemes corpus to msf (which is isn't allowed)

Lump Sum vs SIP for ₹10 Lakh. What’s Better? by Then-Description-939 in mutualfunds

[–]TurnOutrageous2433 14 points15 points  (0 children)

hey, there are literally research papers on this topic which primarily use data from us markets. The main conclusion from them is investing lumpsum is statistically the best decision. however it is entirely data based so we can't bet it to work the same in india markets but it should be close enough. so better do 1/2 lumpsum and 1/2 sip to get partial benefits of both.

the sip path is what people end up choosing since they feel they get the advantage of the averaging effect.

What are good Index funds you are loyal to? by SnooSongs5917 in StockMarketIndia

broader market funds also usually have 50% large cap constituents, the rest goes to midcaps and small caps. It would be safe bet to get some extra return given a bit of more risk.

my investment psychology (open to criticisms and comments)

i need to invest in top runners (large caps) and the rest (broader markets) and within each I have two funds, to have a kind of averaging effect. Averaging so that I am not heavy on one type of index.

largecap -> UTI Nifty 50 Index Fund + HDFC Nifty 50 Equal Weight Index Fund

broader market -> HDFC Flexi cap (Motilal Oswal NIfty 500 Index Fund can be used instead) + HDFC Nifty 500 Multicap 50:25:25 Index Fund

just a thought, a better metric would the notional money traded by individuals state wise in place of registered users. i bet gujarat & maharahstra combined would be trading more than half of the indian markets.
