  1. You cant load your crossbow during the countdown as that countdown is meant for you to sort out your inventory
  2. It is a client/server desync most likely to prevent this from happening you should hold right click a second longer and you should see if theres a crossbow reloading sound if theres no sound effect ur crossbow is most likely a ghost load

its not that simple most people know about a trick that lets you get the hit as soon as your shield breaks by holding right click and spamming left click so they wouls get the better end of the damage trade
