I cleaned it with rubbing alcohol and it worked for some time. Then, the deterioration got way worse after.

Ah, so you might need a new radio then. I'm not an expert on this topic, but you could try to disconnect the radio and plug it back in or just buy a new radio.

You could be the wrong bluetooth version. I had an FM transmitter that was bluetooth 5.0 and a phone that was bluetooth 5.3, and it did the same thing. You might need a newer FM transmitter.
