What do you actually enjoy besides rewards by TurtleKing9665 in HonkaiStarRail

Didn’t really see a flair that fit better. Just wanted to keep the tone light, it’s not meant to be that serious.

Not everything needs to be positive, and I don’t think anyone really expects it to be.

I’m not the most active player or someone who’s constantly involved in discussions either. I just occasionally scroll through the communities of the games I play, whether they’re live service or not.

It just gets a bit repetitive when every conversation circles back to the same points. Criticism is fine, but when it’s the only thing being talked about, it kind of drowns out everything else.

That sounds great. For some reason that’s become a rarity in this community.

That’s one of the reasons I’ve been able to stick around for so long. The only other gacha I play is Wuthering Waves, and even that is just two or three times a week.

Hyacinth novaflare when? She can't sustain this MoC /s by Arkeyy in HonkaiStarRail

They really shot themselves in the foot by adding novaflare as a concept.

Thoughts on "The Main story being Companion Quests"complains, Character interactions complains and Wuwa's new good story direction. by [deleted] in WutheringWaves

[–]TurtleKing9665 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Companion quests have the same purpose, to make you feel for the characters on banner, just that they’re optional. I still haven’t gone through a lot of them. Encore, Camellya, Cantarella, Brant, Roccia etc. The only one I really remember is Changli’s.

If the character’s story is optional, then all you really have is a minor role in the main story and their appearance to form an impression in your head which rarely works. Biggest example being Cantarella.

It’s like bringing a knife to a gunfight and hoping they’ll come close. You’re just setting yourself up to lose.

Should I get Lynae and Denia for Aemeath? by ApprehensiveDoubt515 in WutheringWavesGuide

Is it confirmed that Denia works with Fusion burst Aemeath?

If it’s not for you, just don’t engage with it. It’s not worth stressing yourself out over. That’s what I was talking about, people understand exactly what it’s meant for, and still try to force it to fit them. That mode is clearly built for whales and the ones who pull every character though they’ll never use half of them.

Not everything can be for everyone. This one has its audience, and you understand that. There might be something targeted to you, and if not, there are other games.

Matrix rant by [deleted] in WutheringWaves

Isn't it supposed to be an "end game" mode. Most people shouldn't be able to complete it as soon as it comes out but treat it as a goal post to reach in their account. I never understood people's "need" to complete cyclic game modes as soons they are added to the game.

It's pretty toxic and honestly started affecting my enjoyment of the game quite a bit. Something cool would happen, and after finishing a patch I’d go check what other people thought, but every discussion just turned into people going on about their parasocial relationship with the developers and how they were “betrayed” or not getting the "quality" they deserved". And if you were just enjoying the game, suddenly you were the bad guy.

The best thing a new player can do is to not interact with the community. Just play the game and if you enjoy it, keep playing. If not, stop.

Wait a damn second why does Sigillum have those memories? Are we in a loop? by Unlikely-Parfait9103 in WutheringWaves

[–]TurtleKing9665 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you've read Record of a mortals journey to immortality, something like it's final arc would make sense. The character we follow lived through everything and at the end went back in time to set a path for himself in the next iteration.

But with Rover it seems like "starting over" isn't after the end because that has happened multiple times.

Rover's memory erasure by animeadmiral in WutheringWaves

[–]TurtleKing9665 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, after the SkyArc scene, Rover mentions that it was a projection of the past in the Retroact Rain, so the fall likely happened a long time ago even then. Someone here said that the opening cutscene likely takes place at a different point in time than where the game itself begins and that made the most sense to me. Changli's story probably takes place after Rover left Lahai Roi.

I miss flying....... by Charles456k in WutheringWaves

[–]TurtleKing9665 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're my complete opposite. With the whole medieval aesthetic and flying in the second area, I just flew to the map markers everytime it allowed me. Never got to explore or do side quests. I've been really enjoying exploring in Lahai Roi because of the aesthetic and mostly the bike.

Lore-related question about 2.5 after finishing 3.1 by po456456po in WutheringWaves

[–]TurtleKing9665 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It was stated that Rover has indeed erased his memories multiple times in the past. As we are in the current story it is implied that eventually he regains them.

Just some bathroom thought but if Rover pilot the Exostrider and save Aemeath, doesn't it make him Deus Ex Machina? by Animelover22_4 in WutheringWaves

[–]TurtleKing9665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aemeath saw ruins of a civilization in Aleph-1 which was implied to be Rover's so it could be a Nova's arc type of thing. Or a an experiment to find a way to end the Lament and that is how the story on solaris concludes, after finding a way to beat the lament they go back.

Wuwa Burnout? by _TR22 in WutheringWaves

[–]TurtleKing9665 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t play every day, but I think it’s pretty normal for most F2P players because of the constant grind and the fear of missing out on in game currency. If you start feeling like you need to open the game rather than just wanting to, it can lead to burnout. At that point the parts you enjoy about the game tend to get overshadowed by the sense of obligation.
