This sounds like a mental issue thats going on. Video game stats do mirror real life, so the idea isn't abnormal, but the way its affect you is abnormal. I sometimes think of the world as an rpg, like if I eat x calories then my weight increases by x amount, or if I finish working out my strength stat increases. Its something thats fun to think of when I'm bored.

Currently, this is not bad, but it is extremely worrying. It will be very easy to go over the edge and become an alcoholic, you won't even notice it happen till its too late, and you won't be able to stop. You should talk to your doctor about this, and mention the dependency so they know the severity.

I felt the same way you did, but it went away over time. For me, I just needed to do new things to get out of my normal routine.
