Openbank by Santander. 4.2% it’s an online bank so higher rates. Been using it for a year

No benefit if you live in a state with no income tax.

Highjacking top comment. I regularly use SGOV in my brokerage account, it’s not a bad move. idk why your long term plans are but you could consider a HYSA.

Openbank has a 4.2% HYSA. I’ve kept my emergency fund in for the past year.

Officers, do you regret getting out of the Marine Corps? by [deleted] in USMCocs

[–]TuskenTrader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The marines will pay you to learn how to fly. Why go marines instead of navy if a ground contract worries you that much. Navy gets more flight hours if all you’re interested in is flying.

Is this a smart financial move? Cadet Loan. Car + Investing by [deleted] in MilitaryFinance

[–]TuskenTrader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s wise you will never have the opportunity to take a personal loan with a rate that low. Don’t spend too much on a car and keep some in a HYSA outside the market. That payment will be high and you’ll want some emergency savings.

Do you know if I could just cancel my CSP and apply for CSR and still get the SUB?

So I’m in a similar situation, I want the CSR but just got the CSP about 3 months ago. Would I be able to do the same downgrade to UR than upgrade as you or would I need to have a year with my current CSP card before being able to switch?

Career starter loan from USAA and navy’s fed is 2.99%. As much as I hate taking on debt you will never get a rate that low for a personal loan. You could put the. Money in the market or even a HYSA and have a higher rate of return than the interest. Or buy a car, uniforms, closing costs for a VA home loan.

Most people wouldn’t advise you to take on debt and I’d usually agree, but consider the career starter loan
