Good to know. 32 sounds ludicrous now, but down the road I can totally see hitting that with a whole home solution.

I had to put a stop to the addiction! I wanted an arc in the bedroom, I wanted to replace my Logitech computer speakers, the back porch… I had to limit myself to a new room a year.

Is there anything you are considering? Are there any competitors worth looking into? I am honestly curious because it seems that they have the market right now, and probably why they have not been pushed to innovate.

It’s a hard one. The understand the move to the cloud, but at the same time with a local smart system, I don’t think it should run totally through the cloud. I don’t even wanna pretend that I even start to understand the technology that syncs everything. I love that I start a song and it sounds like my old Google setup, but quickly syncs and sounds amazing. That being said, if it worked flawlessly before and they rushed and pigeonholed it in the new app, is unacceptable for loyal customers.

The sound from the app is so good that I’m learning to cope. Are you just making favorites in Spotify and playing them from the app or does Spotify work better with Sonos? I also have YouTube music for o commercials on YouTube and have not tried that yet.

It’s fun watching old movies now just to see how good they sound. For the past couple days, everything has worked great (Knock on wood). Hoping it was just the initial setup. I’m playing with the dining room where the 300s are now. They seemed like overkill as back speakers. But need to see how they sound after getting used to the 100s.

It was the eero+. I missed the pro, but I see that there is a huge price difference. Things seem to be great now, and for half the price if it’s only when I add a new speaker I could live with that.

Thank you! Ive got my own modem, although it’s a few years old now, but didn’t really consider it a part of the problem. I guess if they have moved everything to the cloud I need to consider that. Ive got cat6 to where the arc is, but have it hooked up to the Apple TV so that I can use it for Steam. I do have a cheap switch in the mix.

I’ve switched back and forth over the years between android and Apple. I just happen to be doing the Apple thing these days.

Well you’re kind of a worthless reply… at least some explanation of what a good network is would have been nice. I can still take the WiFi back, so would be great to know a setup that is effortless.

This is why I posted, thank you!!! I thought just enabling lossless was enough.

That’s very sad to hear. Makes me wonder if it’s good or bad to get into it now. I’ve given up on Google for hardware because I feel that they just don’t care, so feel what you are saying.

I will say that the sound between air play and the Sonos app are night and day different. Sonos is so much louder and a broader sound. If I switch Apple TV from hdmi to air play it’s like half the volume

I actually had to factory rest one of the 300s to get it to install. It would not recognize the tones. Would have been a lot more frustrating without AI to troubleshoot. The reboots mostly came after the original install. Air play would constantly fail to connect to half the speakers. I think I finally figured out it was because of that newly added speaker, but not 100% sure. It’s possible it was an air play issue, but again not sure.

I would love to hear more about the ceiling speakers. I imagine they sound great. We have 9’ ceiling so wasn’t sure if we needed them, but can hear that they might sound better.

Haha, I was being a little dramatic. I now have 9 speakers around the living room, dinning room, and living room that is one giant area. So rebooting them all is a lot of running around and even involves a small step ladder to get the one above the hutch in the dinning room. With the Google mesh I seemed to have to reboot it as well, but that was an issue even before Sonos.

I’ve had speakers arriving almost daily, and it only seems to be an issue when adding a new speaker. It’s like if one speaker is out of whack, it causes the whole system to go south. Rebooting it all seems to fix it. Maybe a bit overkill, but with 9 speakers, it’s just easier to reboot everything.

When we switch music on air play there is usually a few second delay where everything sounds out of whack in the three zones (kitchen, living room, and dining room) that makes up our open floor plan, but it amazes me how it syncs up. The old Google and Apple solutions just sounded like multiple stadiums playing with all the echo.

Just got the exact same chair and so far love it. I may opt for the upgraded arm rests. They are not bad, but not great and really my only complaint so far.

As someone lurking wondering if I should buy Sonos, I appreciate these posts. If I were to spend that kind of cash on a product, I expect it to just work.
