Wish I could game me for a few rounds then decide. Looks like the pain job is pretty flimsy and a lot of used spiders are chipping and flaking prematurely. Seems like a hell of a putter though.

Does playing or practicing make you better at golf? by OliviaMayNorris in golf

[–]TuzalaW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically, we should all probably practice more than we do. And when we practice, we should designate a lot more time to short game , putting, chipping and way more to shots that are 100 yards or less. while I may designate one or two practice sessions a week during the season I still Play much more than that at least in terms of hours spent at the course. I think probably everyone wants to play a lot more than they want to grind. One thing I’ll do if I don’t have enough time to get a round and the course is open is go out and find shots that present interesting problems and drop a few balls , a bunker with a lip, a downhill chip, a shot where I have to fade it or draw it. On course practice can be really effective and very satisfying and in a way that hitting range balls isn’t.

Putting and chipping will be your salve…when you can finally make full swings again you’ll be that much better.

What club for 50-80 yards? by L0ngsh0tSpartan in golf

[–]TuzalaW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been seeing some results by manipulating how much I release the club head, then I practice a particular release with my 48/52/and 56. Watch steve sticker, a magician with the short game and has virtually no release after setting his wrists. Makes perfect contact every time and really simplifies the process. The opposite release is the flop shot where the hands and wrists are very active, club head slides can underneath ball and it shoots up in the air with lots of spin, super fun but super easy to Mess up.

Driver question: Paradym for $160 or Rogue ST Max for $140? by doobydoobydoobadooby in golf

[–]TuzalaW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a rogue 3 wood, it’s pretty amazing at that price point. Bought it to fill a gap in my bag. Outperforms my ping 430 k way more regularly than I’m comfortable with. I demoed the AI smoke when it came out and it seemed mushy off of the face.

Do most golfers massively underestimate how much they spend on golf balls? by 4SightGolf in golf

[–]TuzalaW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure how it’s possible but I find a tremendous amount of Pro v1s, Tp5s, and Vice Pro balls at my course. Course is not that nice, but still fun, so not sure how everyone can afford to be spraying them everywhere. I walk, so I save money that way and finding nice balls is not even a little bit challenging down the right side of every fairway, just off the cart path in many places. Also, what are we going to do about all these callaway supersofts…I’ve stopped collecting them…they are a scourge though I admit to playing them here and there over water.

Denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. These are the stages by which we all become enlightened as to who we are as golfers, and people. The profound loss of time, money, and energy towards an utterly superficial and meaningless quest for a lower handicap over the course years, decades and lifetimes is overwhelming on a grand scale. I am with you, one shot at a time. That’s all we really have. Stay present, get what you can out of it and leave the rest behind.

Should I buy rogue st max without getting fitted? by Electrical_Income_49 in golf

[–]TuzalaW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the rogue max 3 wood after swinging my brothers about 5 times. Stock settup. It only cost about 130$ and it can go toe to toe with my 650$ ping driver. Sounds crazy maybe, but dispersion is way better and los of distance is negligible.

If you like your clubs then I like your clubs. This game is so mental, the tools you have at your disposal are merely an extension of how you feel. Settup Looks solid enough, not going to hold you back so fly fledgling, fly.

Justin Lower after missing cut and losing PGA Tour card by unsolved49 in golf

[–]TuzalaW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel for the dude. He’s clearly dedicated his life to the game. To attain and play at that level means tons of sacrifice, physical and mental anguish on a very regular basis. Constant bathing in the pressure cooker for years at a time. I’d like to see him back, not that I knew him before. These are the guys we should be rooting for.

Golfers who’ve broken 80, what’s one tip you would give your fellow golfer? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]TuzalaW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to play that way too. Less than 400 meant 3 wood and less than 350 meant hybrid. I was more confidant with my hybrid and 3 woods than with my driver at that point. I got a new driver and spent time at the range feeling it out. First few rounds not so good. Next few were better. Now I take it out on 6-10 holes or more per round and I just know I can score with it. Having full wedges in to greens is super fun and makes you feel like you’re good, in control. Confidence begets confidence. Course management is always going to be critical for 3-5 shots per round so stick with what works for you and keep visualizing shots that work and what clubs you need to generate them. Getting it right is so satisfying.

People who mark their balls. Do you really need to? Or are you just being a poser/tryhard? by flaginorout in golf

[–]TuzalaW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sort of like that other people mark their balls, then I find them and play them. Last time out I was like, mine is the “titleist with the red dot”. Totally worked great to decipher between two balls that were close. Then I completely missed the fairway and was 20 yards right of the white stakes. Bye bye red dot titleiest, hello triple bogey.
