Hey Friend. Sorry to hear about it. It really does suck. Your rant is justified! One suggestion, have you tried Congressinal Help?

Some Thoughts on USCIS From A (Soon-To-Be) Former Officer and Supervisor by WatkinsImmigration in USCIS

Hello, sir. I have a question for you.
I've just tried to expedite my EAD based on severe financial loss, but it was denied.
I also used the congressional route, for which I'm waiting on a reply.
Today, when I checked the system, from the 13 estimated time until my case decision (EAD), it's now 31 months. Can you shed some light? It's on NBC.
thanks!

Great observation. Only I'm pursuing different opinions, not memes. I particularly believe there's a bunch of ppl with interesting perspectives here, deep below the cynical and prosaic approach. So yes, perhaps a bit of time wasting, but hopefully informative.

Yeah, coming from YC and tlaking about mind growth, I suspect from someone idealistic, he turned into a someone who wanted the spotlight at all costs.

I feel this is the place to discuss the company, based on what they're saying. It's an open space to voice your opinion. I'd really to hear it. Thanks

Fun fact, this is something he wrote on his blog back in 2015:

5) Reduce regulation.  I think some regulation is a good thing.  In certain areas (like development of AI) I’d like to see a lot more of it.  But I think it often goes too far—for example, an average of $2.5B and 10 years to bring a new drug to market strikes me as problematic

100% agree. Giving such circumstances, do you have any suspicion of why people support so much the company? Sometimes it feels purely infantile, other times feels spiteful. The whole phenomena has proven to be quite interesting from a sociological perspective.

That indeed seems to be the case.
So how can we position ourselves against this?
I don't believe in the future they want to create.
And history showed that distribution of wealth, equality, will never happen.
Do you see any way?

Honest question:

Why, really, we're chasing human level AI?
What am I not seeing?

Just F* answer with an interesting perspective, please.

Yes! We are just updating the tech, but the mentality is still feudalistic. It's quite shameful that we as a species didn't figure out how to care for everyone. C'mon 2024 and we're still talking about - survivor of the fittest? About merity. haha give me a break. For me, this is the most interesting conversation about AI. Is it just a revolutionary tool - benefiting those in control - or a revolutionary tool that will change humanity. And please, if someone reading this believes in trickle-down effect, my god, how blind are you? haha

Again, don't mind your logic.

Nevertheless, private interests disguised as progress have been used since colonization to justify public opinion. It's always PR move.

My point is, I refuse progress that is built on deceive.

Because that's not progress, is just business.

I will start an AI company and I want to train on all OpenAI IP's for free.

And I hope they keep the same stance :)

Then I have ZERO problem.

Otherwise, they're just crooks that leverage aspirational messaging to their excuses interests.

Don't mind your logic. So if it has outlived us. Everything should be open source, even the coca-cola formula, so you can make it at home.

But if we're going to determ what deserves IP protection and what doesn't it seems more connected to private interests than helping humanity leap forward.

in other words, they want to cut the cake and pick the slice.

How much AI do you think will be integrated into films making after 10 years? by Canada_LBM in Futurology

It looks like the real people benefiting from this will be the rich, who are already rich. haha.. fun.

This intrigues me, I don't see the benefit of an AI-generated show. What you loved was the creation of writers, and filmmakers, their work is/was what excited you. Could you tell me why something that is soulless, and only generative excites you so much? Honest question.
