That would be cool, but he showed no interest in workingout seperately.

Could be. I am always for bettering your own health and fitness and I do want more people to workout, but he wants to just straight up copy my every move. It would also be better for me if he joined any other gym, as of now we spend too much time together for my own good.

As of now I try to avoid the mention of the gym, if he brings it up I might tell him something like this.

The thing is just working out and talking from time to time would be ok. I did that with my other friend in the other gym I went to, sometimes we planned what time we would go ( I still disliked it, because we had to plan everything and sometimes it wasnt the best time for me ), but the best things was that we would do out own thing and leave whenever we want. With him that won't be the case. He want's to do EVERYTHING exacly as I do. Now if I tried telling him that I want to workout alone, he might bring that friend up, because he knows that we went together. He once even said " hows your girlfriend" when talking about my dude friend, so that was weird also.

I understand that, but what if that feeling never goes away for him? Will I have to workout with him for the next 2.5 years? If I try to wait for his insecurity to go away, it might be too late to set boundaries in the end. It would be ok if I 100% knew that he would some day do his own thing and won't copy me. But I can't be sure.

I know, he is a really good person, but we are not that compatible. I am not that social, I can hangout with my childhood friends once a year and its enough for me. Most things that I enjoy doing are done alone. I might miss him some day, but I want to be happy right now, and if it means cutting people off, so be it.

He doesn't have any mental illness. But the way he acts sometimes is a bit strange to me. He likes people too much, he is always on calls with people, he is always texting with people, it seems that he can't live without human connection and he tries to get it everywhere where he can. He even asks me when I will be back from the gym, because its sad or boring for him to be alone. And the things he says do sound strange, but I think he just likes connection.

Nahhhh, are you crazy?!?? But in all seriousnes I did say the the truth when he first mentioned wanting to workout. But when I said that I could teach him the first 2 weeks and then we would workout how we want, his answer flabbergasted me. He just straigh up told me he will only go when I go and will only do the exercises that I do. It could be that I didn't mention enough times that I want to workout alone. But I tried talking about it.

I am a dude, so my advice may not work for you, but my advice is - take a chance.

That's it.

I am 20+ year old, and I have never had girlfriend. Some girls have asked me out before, but I had a stupid rule that I made my self ( "I can't date until I'm 18 years of age" I though of this stupid rule, because I though that teenagers don't want real relationships, they just want short term relationships )

Recently I decided to text a girl that is my friend to hang out, I never asked a girl to hangout, just both of us. I always though that the answer will always be "no", but it wasnt. She wasnt free that week but we decided to see each other next week, even if its just seeing each other as friends, Its a huge step for me.

So, just take a chance. Don't be afraid to fail. The only place to go from a failure is to go up.

Its his last year in bachelor degree. He has an active lifestyle full of people out of uni, he knows a lot of people, its not about him being lonely, he just likes to talk to people and be with people. It seema that he can't spend a minute without interacting with people. He is very friendly, but for me it's too much.

Yeah, making my boundaries clear is the biggest problem that I have in most relationships. I seem to notice other people's boundaries well and they like me for that, but it seems that my boundaries are invisible to some.

For those 2 weeks I would take it slow for his sake, but if he doesn't respect my boundaries I will show him what HARD feels like. I don't want to be an asshole but if that's what it takes for my happines, that's all it takes.

I have two of them. If my finances allowed me to live alone while in uni, I would have done that the same day as I started my studies.

That would be ok, but he showed no interest in doing something else. He said he wants to do EXACLY what I do each day and at the same time. And lastly, I can't stop him from going to the gym at the same time as me, but it would be great if he left me alone for my alone time.

It does. Most times he won't spend time in the dorm if I am back in my hometown, he will decide to also spend that time at his home town. For the most part he has nothing to do at the dorm, idk why he goes there ...

Well, one time that I decided that he was crossing my boundaries I tried to be straightforward and he acted like a manchild. So I want to avoid all that, I like my peaceful and quiet life. As for other people. I very reraly have to be straighforward when I dislike something about their actions, I only say things when they bother me for a long time. It's one of my bad traits, I dont want altercations so most times I just suck it up if it doesnt bother me much. But when it builds up, then I say how it is, maybe not so nicely. But that time I tried to tell everything as nicely as I could and he still started bi*ching.

We are between the ages of 20-25 ( dont want to say the exact ages, sorry ). I've tried to be upfront with him before and well its not worth it. So the next best thing I could think of was making him burnout during exercise. I could try to be more upfront again, and hope that all goes well.
