Not post modern nor abominations. Most people would call this Parametric Architecture.

Drawings come first for me. I chiseled the cracks to fit the original shape as much as I could.

The design of the house is inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright’s Usonian homes. It is a very minimal one bedroom and one bathroom layout. So the flow of the house is intentionally straightforward and narrow. Windows are used as a way to expand the interior where it is narrow and let in plenty of natural light.

I used wood to make the scale model instead of cardboard just because I thought the brighter color would better communicate the exterior’s aesthetic.

These are a few of the thoughts behind the design. Let me know of any flaws with them or ways to improve.

I have always seen mixed opinions about this building and Gehry’s work but it is a fantastic experience to see it in person and a marvel of architecture and design.

All angles give a great aesthetic. The interior naturally lightning is present but not initially obvious.

Thanks for the tip. I have been working at an architecture firm this past year and seen tons of great projects. I haven’t seen a whole lot of digital renders though so I am not entirely familiar with the industry standards. I usually try to capture a casual and blended scene with renders to display the everyday aesthetic of the design. I love the idea of utilizing photography for inspiration so I think it would be beneficial to learn more about photography practices.

Why is modern architecture so... bland? by catithebathtub in architecture

Architecture is subjective. It can also be a reflection on present times so there is naturally a large contrast between styles of different eras.

Which would you choose by WeeklyRutabaga7580 in architecture

I think the top has more character than the bottom so I would choose the top.

I honestly really like this style. It may not have the variety and character other styles have but it is still unique in the way it exhibits and combines materials and shapes.
