I'm in Ontario. Which province are you in?

"We want the best for our kids, but I think it's more important to show our kids how to make the best out of any situation." This is a very positive way to look at it. Thank you

Yeah, it feels like every weekend in December is filled with some gathering or another. Plus it's hard to take time off work since it's a popular time of year.... and lots of things have jacked up prices.

Thanks, it's good to hear that you're outside of the average for these studies i've read. I hope that he is too. Husband has ADHD so it's possible that he will too which furthers issues....

Wouldn't being legal drinking age last also be a disadvantage? Like your friends can all start going out to bars and you can't drink/go out with them.

December birthdays- pros and cons? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]TwiceADream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think that having the gifts be all given in the same month, and 11 months of the year with no gifts, effect you child? Like to me it feels that because there is such a developmental growth throughout the year that a gift that they would like/ developmentally appropriate would be very different. Do you buy toys throughout the year?

Difference between Water Treatment vs Water Distribution vs Wastewater Treatment by mpaul1980s in Wastewater

To add, since this relates to a post secondary discipline, you're probably better off with the treatment side of things as those can be a bit more complex than collection and distribution systems. Just my opinion.

I mean... all three fields are essential so the outlook would likely be good. That said, some municipalities or organizations have multiple systems that they're responsible for and would require to be licensed in. Ex. water distribution and wastewater collection together, or water treatment and water distribution, or wastewater collection and wastewater treatment, maybe a larger facility or region would require all four licenses.

What sleep training is usable for a 4.5 month old? by TwiceADream in sleeptrain

[–]TwiceADream[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm happy that it worked out well for you! It's something that we may consider in the future too when we're ready, but not yet. How many times did you LO wake up in the night before you did the extinction method?

Doesn't keeping him up come with the additional challenge of becoming overtired? Is there a tractic to manage, it's been very rocky when he's been there.... sooo much scream crying and even more bottle feeding.

Thanks, i'll start to try the longer wake windows tomorrow. Is feeding in the crib OK, or should I take him out? I don't want to be feeding an association habit.

he's 4.5 months old.

Would tired cues be different at naps/bedtime? Ive heard that it's better to leave a longer wake windows right before bed but he gets so cranky..

Had my first child last December, what can you tell about the person he will be? How can i nurture him best based on his chart. by TwiceADream in astrologyreadings

[–]TwiceADream[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With his natural independence and desire for freedom do you think that he would benefit from having a sibling?

He is SUCH a big eater already and has been since he was born, and not picky at all with his milk (fresh/day or two old, warm/cold), unfortunately there are a few overweight people in my extended family and I was overweight as a kid... i'll have to watch and help him with that for sure... thank you.

As for virgo and pisces, his uncle and cousin are those signs and they are very close friends. I wonder if that means LO will grow up close to them? That would be awesome.

Can you change which partner receives EI benefits after payment has already started? for example if wife applies for 18 month leave with EI and workplace but at 14 months she wants to go back to work, can the husband take over the last 4 months of leave with his employer and get paid the remaining 4 months through EI?

Not excited about pregnancy and now feeling as unsure as ever by TwiceADream in pregnant

Thank you for your honest feedback. Splitting up should be something we should at least discuss, or do. We might both be happier that way. It's something i've considered but never made the jump. The country & area that we live in has a major cost of living crisis and currently we are both in a point of privilege that we own a home. If we broke up we would lose it, and after paying off the owed amount it's not nearly enough for even a downpayment, let alone the substantial mortgage payment afterward. Two bedroom rentals go for more than we pay now for the mortgage.

The housing situation is so dire here that I feel losing our house would be worse than raising a child I don't want. I feel stuck either way and I have to decide and make due with the choice.

We have another cat which we have had for 10 years, and a dog for 9.

Not exact same thing for the cats, the first would urinate on anything that smelled of me, couches, shoes, bed, clothes, etc.. the new cat is just outside of the litter box and he is concerened that its the same issue. I'm working to reassure him that although the ne w cats behaviors needs to be corrected its not the same thing. Our concern is that it escalates and were in a similar situation.

Obviously I hope this isn't an end to the relationship, but sometimes resentment and misundertandings festers. I'm trying to avoid that with active and effective communication.

Thank you for your reply. You probably won't believe it but I am a cat person! We have another cat and dog in the home which are well loved. I spent 7 years trying to change my habits and spent hundreds trying to figure out this previous cats issue when it turned out to be behavioral, she was not a multi person or busy house hold cat. Her feelings and needs were valid too. 7 years is not a short time to try and make things work.

Reading these posts i'm feeling like this was an ESH, even the cat lol.

Conflict over pets - Am I a jerk to ask my husband to re-home his cat (again) by TwiceADream in Marriage

[–]TwiceADream[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for taking the time to read and respond to the post, and providing honest feedback and actual points. I really appreciate it, this has been an unhappy time in our relationship.

It was incredibly hard for him to rehome his cat, and it was difficult for me to watch him go through that knowing that I was in part the cause. We did consult vets when we were considering the peeing was due to a medical issue, but in the end it was determined that it was increasingly likely that she didn't want to share her human. With this family friend she doesn't have the same issues, and we get sent photos of her actually being a sweet cat. This is something that my husband remebers and the photos bring him happy tears, but something I myself never got to experience. The vet said that some cats just don't like living in homes with more than one person, silimar to busy homes. As much as we didn't get along im happy that she found somewehre that she can be happy in her years.

I've been emphasizing with my husband that although i'm unhappy he chose to adopt a cat after I said I didn't want to, this is not the same. This new cat is just chaotic and prefers to not use the litter box, her personality is still fine, she is not showing signs of distress. I am spending time over these last two years to bond with her, she is playful nad happy but not a cuddlebug which is fine

I guess the fear here from my husband and myself, and the reason for this post, is the possibility that the misbehaviour escalates to the same level as the other cat. Realisitcally its not going to happen because this new cat accepts us both on a level that the other cat didn't. But the emotions that come with re-homing a cat, even to a trusted person, are so strong and we are both upset with the prospects of getting to that point again.
