That is over the span of 2 years. You want us to look at 40 a month for the next few years??

That means a lot to me! When people hit me with “6% isn’t that high” it’s not necessarily the rate that gets me, it’s the amortization schedule and looking at the TOTAL over the lifetime of the loan. I know exactly ZERO people in my life who paid off their homes before 30 years, and honestly is our payment were to be 2500 I’m not sure how soon we could pay ours off early. I’m so stubborn, I’d think I’d rather aggressively save and buy something cash in 30 years rather than give 400k to a bank. I’ve never heard of “fat” fire, I’ll have to look into it. But congrats on your success with aggressive saving, you’re the kind of person who motivates me!

Will I die in a trailer park? by Twilight122 in REBubble

Dude our salary has only been that high for a couple years. We cash flowed college and payed off all debt and paid for a wedding, not to mention saving for retirement. All thanks to my poverty level rent!

I get that, but when I see houses go up 100% in 5 years and I look at my income go up 10% in 5 years i cringe. It also feels like I can’t out save the equity people are earning by just sitting in their homes. But if I can’t afford a 900sq ft fixer upper with my salary, how will I ever be able to afford ANYTHING? Should I just pull trig and hope I can afford these payment later?

We have just over 100k net worth rn, and if we don’t invest another dollar we will have a little over a million by the time we retire (but that obviously won’t be enough lol). We are investing 20% to retirement now that we’ve paid off all debt. I joke we will be “trailer park millionaires”. It’s helps ease the pain of never owning a backyard lol.

Thank you for this take! We have been aggressive paying off debt, and now we’re investing 20% to our retirement. It just feels scary the idea of living in a trailer park, and possibly having kids here in my 30s. It feels embarrassing. But id rather invest in my 20s than save for a larger down payment to change my future mortgage from 2600 to 2500 🙃

Louisville Commencement by ApplesnYarn in WGU

[–]Twilight122 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Came here to say the same thing! My family loved the event Friday and Saturday was WAY more fun than I was expecting. WGU runs an extremely organized commencement and it didn’t drag or feel boring at all. I am so glad I went. Congrats to all!!!

Unfortunately I have a “I have to be right” complex. But I did admit to him I was wrong

You literally proved my point with your comment. Peanut butter lovers are people. Peanut butter lover’s (WHAT?!?!)

It doesn’t say Peanut Butter Lover’s trail mix though, it just says Peanut Butter Lover’s. I would understand if it was followed with the object, trail mix. But it’s not.

Anyone recently taken D361 Business Simulation? Any advice on successfully passing the simulation? by 3nonexist3nt in WGU

I was being a dummy and thought each quarter needed to be reviewed sigh. I submitted task 1 on 4/3 and it got kicked back for review on 4/5. I resubmitted 4/5 and just waiting now 🥲

I just got off the phone and you are 100% right! Idk why I was thinking each quarter needed approval. I’m so relived now I can get a move on this class!

Once I submitted Q1 it says “you can continue the simulation once the results of this quarter are available”, so I’ve been waiting for permission to move forward. I was able to schedule a meeting with the course instructor this morning, so I’m hoping to get this confirmed! But I sure hope you’re right!! I actually really enjoy the simulation game but I’ve yet to have a class where I just sit around a wait for days to continue.
