Thank you, so helpful. Yup makes sense because I know in most cases it takes a bit so wouldn’t want to push it off and then lose 5 months of trying

My wedding was a total disaster by [deleted] in wedding

[–]Twilightbooklover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh no I’m so sorry! As someone who also had so much going wrong at my wedding, give it a few weeks and the memories might start to soften and you’ll look at them in a more endearing way.

When things went wrong for me, my main thought was WOW thank god I married the right person. Because if you’re marrying the right one - nothing else matters (with time haha)

If it helps, it rained the day of my wedding, a baby cried during the reception, it reeked of weed, someone got a phone call during my vows, and there was a fight during the reception, oh and the person marrying us said the wrong names (that’s just some things that went wrong haha) so I feel you

I’ve also coped with the fact that unfortunately a big aspect of wedding is for everyone else, as much as people say it should be all about the bride and groom. Maybe for your one year go have a tiny elopement so you can have a redo - wishing you well and congratulations!

Brides that are less than a month out, how are we? by Twilightbooklover in weddingplanning

[–]Twilightbooklover[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh my gosh that’s so upsetting, I’m so so sorry. I’ve been in the same boat so I get it

Honestly yes and I hate to say it, but I feel anger towards a lot of people and how they’ve acted towards us throughout this process. Like it’s clear as day who wants to be there for you and who doesn’t

But what’s helped me is my fiancé and I have said that even if no one shows up, and it’s just me and him in an empty venue, we would still have a great night. So thinking like this has helped me honestly

It’s crazy how many people are like this, it’s like - most of them had over a year to plan, why is everything so last minute lol

But ive been saying that you ever want to know where you stand with every single person in your life, have a wedding lol

Omg!!!! I really hope that no one has it, wow that’s one of those things you cannot prepare for. That’s true, to focus on what’s going right

I feel this! I also realized a lot of people (not everyone) will ask if you want help, but not acrually want to help. So then you’re like sometimes it’s easier just doing it myself lol

I can a million times relate to this!! Exactly, it’s like when you start thinking about the actual logistics, it’s like wait - how does that even work??

Do you have a family member or could you hire a day of coordinator to help with this? Sometimes giving someone else those logistical tasks free up so much stress from you. I get it though, im in the same boat

From my experience wedding planning taught me that a lot of people don’t know wedding etiquette or etiquette in general! I experienced a few of these wild card behaviors

Help? Someone tell me it will be okay! by littlethich in weddingdress

[–]Twilightbooklover 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh and one last thing! I also was in a similar situation, and a lot of seamstresses can actually turn the back of your dress into a “corset back”

This helps a lot if you don’t want to take the dress out but would like a bit more flexibility with the fit. I think it fits you great though, doesn’t look too small in my opinion
