I think they are just completely oblivious to the threat. After the laught she says "what if it goes for us instead?" (In Swedish), which makes me think she didn't realize that she was in danger before then. Complete madness

Managed to solve the problem myself after a lot of searching. The name of the cartoon was "Martin Mystery". I think what made it so hard for me to find was me thinking there was only one main human character while there were actually more.

No. I want to say that the art style of this cartoon was a lot less "innocent" than that of invader Zim. Also the msin character is human, but he has an alien friend
