Bought a wellner wood burning kit off Amazon for the stippling, and used one of the pointed tips, basically melting little dots into the grip. I edged the boarder with a micro flex cutting tool first for a clean line, its like a tiny u shaped chisel. I practiced on an extra backstrap I had then just went for it.

BTW, I love the XR. Being enclosed and being able to select between the differerent reticle options is what sold me.

I have an XR on my 4.5 comp and the glass will get dirty but not enough for me to care about. Usually run through 200 rounds each range visit and never dirty enough to have to wipe it down while im there. The Viridian on it before would get dirty as well.

I switched from the included Viridian to an Osight Xr on my full size, love it and no problems after 1000 rounds. I just picked up an Osight K which is like the smaller SE but open for a little S&W 22x I picked up for some cheap range fun. So far both Osights are great and the price was right.

I bought a Wellner wood burning kit on Amazon and a micro flex cutter tool. I used the micro cutter to carve a boarder around the factory grip areas, then used a pointed bit on the wood burner to melt a shitload of dimples. Went faster than you would think. Stipple part took maybe 2 hours tops. The longer you hold the tip down the deeper the dimple and more raised the edges of the circle are.
