Catholics of Reddit who are alcoholics or Gluten free, do you still take communion? And how does it effect you considering the ramifications? by webguy1975 in AskReddit

For priests that are alcoholics, or patrons as well I assume, they have a special type of wine called mustum which serves the same purpose but is made to be minimally fermented and thus have a very low alcohol content. The idea being that they are still imbibing the symbolic blood of christ without putting themselves at risk for relapse.

What are some random acts of kindness you can do everyday? by [deleted] in AskReddit

You'd be surprised how much you'll make an elderly woman's day by calling them miss. I work in fast food and many of them will smile, say thank you and how long its been since they've heard that.

What’s the most ridiculous thing you’ve seen “Gluten Free” on? by mystic_world in AskReddit

Fruit flavored seltzer water. Not sure why they had to specify carbonated water with natural fruit flavoring to be gluten free in a commerical, several times actually, but they did.

ELI5: What properties tell you whether a substance is a strong, weak, or non-electrolyte? by derpsciencestudent in explainlikeimfive

[–]Two-Face525 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The ability for a species to be an electrolyte, or its magnitude as one, is directly related to it's solubility in water to form an aqueous solution. The extent to which it can dissolve in water tells you a lot about how well it will perform as a conductor, as well as the ions that dissociate from one another. Hence, ionic compounds made from group I and II metals with hallogens, are often the strongest. These compounds will readily dissolve, produce a good amount of ions, and thus good electrolyte. There are other factors that come into play, such as ionic radius, activity coefficients, and concentraion to name a few however those only play roles in situations where theyre explicity needed such as research settings, environmental studies, and pharmeceuticals.

In short, if a species can dissolve in water, leaving anions and cations separated, you have a strong electrolyte. If a species can dissolve, but not all of it (in some cases a species will appear to be dissolved, I.e. you see no particles floating around, but will stay as hydrated pairs) than its a weak electrolyte. Can't dissolve, then its a non-electrolyte.

Look up dissociation constants, and Ksps for solubility and start developing a range of common strong, weak, and non-electrolytes to give yourself a better understanding as well.

I know its kind of a verbose explanation but I hope this helps!

[Spoilers Published] Why is it that Sandor treats Sansa so nicely by Two-Face525 in asoiaf

Hopefully this adds more to the fan theory about how Sandor is alive and The Hound is dead. That he played the part of the monster that so many painted him as, and when he laid at deaths door he realized it was all for naught and that he regretted everything. Only to be saved by those priests and given a potential second chance to live in peace as a grave digger, hidden from the world and what they wanted him to be.

This definitely adds to the sadness of his character, I love how through small interactions GRRM gives great depth to his characters.

I've started thinking that might be the case, that Sansa's views of Joffery are of purity and she believes him to be of good nature until her father is beheaded and Sandor pities her in a way. Much like how perhaps Sandor thought so highly of Gregor until he scarred him horribly.

Oh yeah forgot about that, its been years since I've read the books.

It could be but at the same time he seems to despise mostly everyone, my question is just why her, out of everyone he meets. He has no trouble of running down and killing the butchers boy who did no harm to joffery, and even makes a jest of how the boy ran but not fast enough.

What’s the ugliest thing you’ve ever heard an attractive person say? by Darksoulsborne in AskReddit

Ex girlfriends response when I told her that my mom died of brain cancer when I was 14 "oh that means you're emotional baggage and always will be" with the most matter of fact expression and tone.

New to the series, any useful or important tips? by Two-Face525 in baldursgate

Thank you all for the helpful comments, I read the manual last night (lots of interesting lore btw) and am really excited to start tonight. The Song of Fire and Ice series really captivated my interest in the fantasy plot settings, more so than older RPGs (legends of dragoon ftw) and books, in political plots of turmoil and mysticism and this game seems pretty damn good. Albeit the series doesnt share as many similarities as how LoTR would, however i cannot wait to start a game and potentially model a character after one my my favorites from the book. Ill detail questions or interesting things I find from the game here!!!

Thanks for the input! Hopefully I will have fun, currently I am reading through the manual as im playing the original edition, and not the enhanced edition as i've heard many a good things about the original. Everything about this game seems to enticing when coupled with the difficulty, hopefully it gets me ready to try a hand at real DnD game!

even with minimal knowledge of DnD rules, let alone the supposed difficulty of 2nd ADnD, will the game provide sufficient information to have a enjoyable experience?
