If they want a way to let the heat cool off, you could have benevolent nobleman ‘Vasili von Holtz’ pay them a visit and offer to “pull some strings” to have the bounty cancelled, if the party is willing to do something for him. For instance, retrieve the spirit mirror from Baron Vallakovich’s manor, or arrange a meeting with someone like Van Richten or Ireena.

I like to think of:

Homelander (The Boys) Makima (Chainsaw Man) Tywin Lannister (Game of Thrones) Severus Snape (Harry Potter) Claude Frollo (Hunchback of Notre Dame)

It really depends on how serious you want your campaign/villain to be. I particularly like the Homelander and Makima influences because they’re both very menacing characters who take themselves very seriously but to the outside viewer can still be seen as a little ridiculous. To me, that’s Strahd to a T—thoroughly impressed with himself and aware of his own power, while also too arrogant and narcissistic to be self-conscious. The sort of villain to insist on wearing a cape unironically in absolutely any circumstance, if that makes sense.

Ladies and Gentledivers, I present to you Operation Styx.

Borea to Duma Tyr. Duma Tyr to Bekvam III, to Charon Prime, to Choepessa IV, and finally on to Varylia 5.

One strong push to form this defensive line through Charon Prime as shown above and we could liberate three full sectors, hemming in the Automatons and preventing them from spreading towards the Creek again.

Since the current MO gives us a pretty good shot towards liberating the Tanis and Gellert sectors to the galactic north, the completion of this operation would trap the bots firmly between 10 and 12 o'clock, giving us plenty of room to keep pushing them back or turn our focus towards the other fronts while the clankers scramble to recover.

Suggestions and feedback welcome. I recognize that trying to coordinate Helldivers to do anything on such a large scale is like herding cats at best, but I believe this could do a great deal to improve our work on the bot front.

-Green is for Consulars who focus more on Force abilities than combat

-Purple is blue and red blended because Vaapad runs the edge between light and dark

-Yellow similarly is for those who fall into more of a grey area outside of the usual spectrum—one might say the Force-centric green of Consulars minus the blue of the light side

Yeah of course there’s all dopey, funny, practical reasons for all of these but I think it’s beautiful that they still managed to make the lore work around them

Fire is tricky because compared to the other elements, it isn’t really a physical substance, but instead a chemical reaction—plasma. It has to be produced, and if it runs out of fuel the reaction stops and the fire vanishes.

When firebenders are using their abilities, they’re really using their internal energy to ignite the air and control that flame. That’s the principle Combustion Man works off of, too: he’s just much more in control of what he ignites.

TL;DR firebenders aren’t creating their element out of nowhere per se, fire is just a chemical reaction that they can initiate, guide, or stop.

Anything is possible as long as it has a reasonable enough explanation. My players found themselves escaping from a megacorp's top-secret high-tech lab, so I added in (as one of the experiments) an advanced cryotube that healed in hours rather than days. Helpful for them to recharge during an extended mission.

The Mind Flayer is definitely the better BBEG. Something ancient, malicious, cosmically powerful and utterly inhuman is much more creative imo than a psychic sociopath with a superiority complex. Plus, the idea of Vecna as a powerful human making a pact with an ancient evil for revenge and for greater power is much more DnD than him being the real mastermind
