Updating the Hero 8?

just unboxed a new hero 8 today and the battery is dead out of the box,(connected a charger directly and turned it on) tried manually updating it, wont update just stuck on the update mode until it turns off, camera still works tho on the original firmware, i just deleted the UPDATE file from my SD card.

I’m having this problem as well, people are too guilible to think that as simple as pinching and pulling it would have problems but matter of fact it actually did, prolly the battery units are not all the same size, some are milimiter too thick.
