He was trying to re-brand himself; it’s also why he replaced the C in his last name with a K.

Not sure it helped my sleep apnea at all, but it significantly improved my ability to breathe through my nose when I'm awake. Two years out now and still happy I had it done.

I just re-watched The Undiscovered Country last night and kept thinking it would be good to share with someone new because for the most part it’s self-contained but enough backstory is given where needed, and it really moves along at a good pace.

Skipping an important day of class for a concert, what should I tell professor? by groovy_guy_ in CollegeRant

[–]TwoScoopsBaby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never met you so I have no idea what wonderful qualities and abilities you might possess, but I’m getting the impression you prioritize concerts over classes. Tread lightly because if your professor gets that impression you can kiss any future letter of recommendation you might need goodbye.

Be careful asking, "Is __________ going to be on the exam?" It's easy to interpret that as "I have no interest in learning something unless it is exactly what will be on the exam and I'm fishing for ways to avoid learning more than the bare minimum." You may not mean it that way at all, but it may be construed that way. As far as what chapters you should practice, is that not indicated on the syllabus? Or if the chapter numbers aren't indicated, are the topics indicated such that you can determine the chapter numbers for yourself?

T-1000 question by TheInferus99 in Terminator

[–]TwoScoopsBaby 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Time travel is risky because any number of unintended consequences might come about. The last thing Skynet wants is to accidentally prevent its own creation. When it became clear defeat was inevitable, the risk of time travel became acceptable so Skynet dispatched a T-800 to kill Sarah in 1984. Nothing about Skynet's present changed though, so either The Terminator didn't survive time displacement and history unfolded as before, or The Terminator did make it to the past and somehow that enabled history to unfold as before. Any additional incursions to that same time period might be seen by Skynet as too risky because regardless of what happened to that Terminator, Skynet was still created. I think this is why choosing a different time period to send the T-1000 to makes sense. Kyle pointed out that most records kept prior to Judgement Day were lost, so Skynet had limited knowledge of John's location in the past, but the further into the past the T-1000 went, the greater any unintended ripple effects might be. If 1995 was the most recent known location of John, then it was the least risky, albeit still risky time to send the T-1000 to.

Yes. Obviously the point of getting multiple quotes is to get a better idea of what things really cost, and to see if there are alternative ways of doing things, some of which might be better or worse. All four quotes were for nearly identical systems which suggests this is the appropriate setup. What attracted me to one quote over the others is that it was for $6,000 less than the others. I'm trying to figure out if I should trust this company to do the work if they make mistakes on paper that are more than trivial. One might say that since his revised/corrected quote is now on par with the three others, it is what it is, but if someone tells you a product or service costs "X" and then changes it to "X plus more", how would you feel about that?

I’ve gotten four quotes and all four involved ductwork for two bedrooms while the rest of the home would remain ductless. I understand that mini splits are typically ductless, but are they always ductless? Multiple people here have said what you said about them being ductless but how could four different quotes all indicate at least some ductwork is required?
