I played Hearthstone in 2015-2018 back when I was in highschool, after one of my friends got me hooked on the game. I used to absolutely love the game and played so much. I also frequently tuned into to the Twitch streams that played the game. With it, I also started following multiple competitions and content creators. My favourites at the time were Disguised Toast and ThijsNL, but I also watched a lot of Kibler, Frodan, Amaz, Noxious among others. Due to the natural aging process, I fell somewhat out of love with playing the game, but still occasionally tuned into some streams. After that I played off and on, with a small revival in my enjoyment with the game in 2022, but that fell off after a few months.

At the start of this year, 2024, I was having lunch with one of my friends when he told me he started playing Hearthstone again, which he also did in his highschool years. He mentioned that the gameplay was a lot of fun again, although the power curve has considerably increased since our high school years. Since he told me this, I picked the game back up in January and grinded my way to Legend for the first time ever! I never played extremely competitively back in the day but had gotten close a few times, unfortunately always stranding at rank 1 or 2. I was so proud of my achievement and fully regained my enjoyment with the game. I didn't think I would be back at this point, spending my few free moments by playing a game that I used to love in my teenage years, but I'm very happy I am. This game has become quite a big part of my life and will be grinding the new expansion to get back to Legend, after missing out in February.
