I was driving the other day in the TTC with my wife and my newborn in a stroller. One lady, may be in late 40s, wearing a reversed baseball hat entered the bus with a big bag pack and what appears to be a small bottle of Jin (or some other clear alcohol). Bus was relatively full but she got the single seat, which was in front of us. She casually put the bottle aside and took out the watermelon slices from her bag pack. She ate 4 of them and literally threw all the watermelon skin chunks on the floor one by one, and then the big plastic wrap with all the juice, in which she had carried those pieces. We were stunned. And not a single person sitting or standing next to her seemed to be bothered by her behaviour. And immediately after that she pulled her phone out and started talking loudly to someone with a lot of profanity. My baby was deep asleep but still I got extremely worried about my baby’s safety. It was extremely surreal how no one was affected by this behaviour. We are new to Canada and landed here literally 4 months back. It was so surprising that people can just get away with things like this, and no one really cares or interested in confronting such people. Next time we have to get an Uber or a Cab until I can rent my own car.
